Had a great time!!! This B&B is very clean, very welcoming, great location and even better breakfasts! We had a room for 4 of us and it worked out great with lots of room! The owners were very helpful to get us around town. Highly recommend anyone to stay here!

Tina and Giuseppe oriented us to Matera, recommended good restaurants and a great guide, and were generally very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The rooms were comfortable. Location is good, on the edge of the old town and the Sassi.

Our second stay. This time for a week. We booked 7 months ahead! Tina and Giuseppe saved the Bach room for us again. Excellent accommodation. Great room. Wonderful breakfasts. Saw Giuseppe rehearsing for Don Giovanni at the conservatorium. Tina arranged for some sewing repairs. They are very helpful. They advised us to see the Crypt of Original Sin (a short... More

We spent two nights in Matera. Enjoyed the location and amenities offered by Tina and Giuseppe. Terrific breakfast with local flair and flavors. The sidewalk below our window was the entry to the Sassi and we enjoyed the sights and sounds of life there. If we return to Matera we will certainly stay with Tina once again.

Wonderful room in grand palazzo with balcony and view of Sassi. Giuseppe and Tina were very welcoming and obliging. Great breakfast with home made cakes and other goodies (eg fresh ricotta with home made fig compote). Very glad we chose this rather than a room in the Sassi as it was light and airy and very comfortable. Just as well... More

La Casa di Ele is a really special place in a really special city. You will not regret staying in this delightful bed and breakfast – the rooms, the breakfasts and the hospitality is really exemplary. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. It feels truly unique with a wonderful atmosphere and you couldn't be better located for exploring both layers... More

My only regret is that we spent here just one night! Let's start from the beginning: we found this B&B thanks to some friends' advisors, and decided to book for one night, in order to see the Matera beauty and its famous Nativity Set representation. We made a call the day of our arrival and the host helped us finding... More

This B&B, housed in grandfather's old house, is a superb place to take in and breathe in the sights and sounds of Matera and the Sassi. Elegance and history abounds in the suites, care and loving attention to detail in the excellence of the breakfasts, and delight in pointing out places to see in the Sassi and around Matera flow... We booked 2 nights at La Casa di Ele on the basis of the great reviews and were not disappointed. The family were so welcoming and helpful, the house beautiful and the breakfast outstanding. Would thoroughly recommend.
