Paulina - Ecuador... More

Great location, very clean room, excellent breakfast! The best part of La Casa di Ele is the people we met. Breakfast included cake Tina baked. We learned that she baked late into the night sometimes, and cooked with pleasure and care. You can certainly taste it - the fig jam made by Tina served on top of fresh ricotta was... More

Large luxury room overlooking the Sassi cascading down into ravine of ancient and more recent restored dwellings and cobbled pathways through this cave town. Room and amenities sumptuous with tapestry and paintings with baroque interior detailing. Breakfast of handmade cakes and foccacia, and braided mozarella cheese. Utmost kindness and generosity of care for new tourists.

What a great B&B! It is a lovely old home, originally built in the 17th century, and kept in excellent condition. It is in a perfect location in Matera, at the edge of, and looking down into, the sassi. It is so easy to walk outside of the inn and explore this fascinating and ancient town. While we didn't get... Tina and Giuseppe were so welcoming and friendly giving us lots of advice on restaurants, etc. we loved the breakfasts with homemade cakes and jams. We loved the fresh ricotta with homemade fig sauce. We stayed in the newly renovated Vivaldi room with great terrace overlooking the Sassi. Thanks for a great visit.

Had a great time!!! This B&B is very clean, very welcoming, great location and even better breakfasts! We had a room for 4 of us and it worked out great with lots of room! The owners were very helpful to get us around town. Highly recommend anyone to stay here!

Tina and Giuseppe oriented us to Matera, recommended good restaurants and a great guide, and were generally very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The rooms were comfortable. Location is good, on the edge of the old town and the Sassi.

Our second stay. This time for a week. We booked 7 months ahead! Tina and Giuseppe saved the Bach room for us again. Excellent accommodation. Great room. Wonderful breakfasts. Saw Giuseppe rehearsing for Don Giovanni at the conservatorium. Tina arranged for some sewing repairs. They are very helpful. They advised us to see the Crypt of Original Sin (a short... More

We spent two nights in Matera. Enjoyed the location and amenities offered by Tina and Giuseppe. Terrific breakfast with local flair and flavors. The sidewalk below our window was the entry to the Sassi and we enjoyed the sights and sounds of life there. If we return to Matera we will certainly stay with Tina once again.

Wonderful room in grand palazzo with balcony and view of Sassi. Giuseppe and Tina were very welcoming and obliging. Great breakfast with home made cakes and other goodies (eg fresh ricotta with home made fig compote). Very glad we chose this rather than a room in the Sassi as it was light and airy and very comfortable. Just as well... More
