A small hotel near the centre of the ancient city of Matera. Checking in was very easy and the Receptionist was most helpful - providing a map of the area and giving background information and advice. There is no on site parking, but the street outside has bays with moderately priced parking meters - free on Sundays. However there are... More

We spent two nights at the Albergo Roma and were very satisfied. The hotel is a short walk from the train station and close to the Sassi. The owner was very helpful, with great recommendations for restaurants and advice on how best to explore the Sassi. The room was clean and comfortable with good Wi-Fi. Good value in a great... More

I stayed just for 1 night. The position is definitely the strong point, just a stone's throw from the spectacular sassi and with a convenient parking area outside (not too expensive either). The owner is very kind and explained how to visit the sassi in the best way. The hotel itself is extremely simple and antiquated, a bit.more colour in... More

We were very happy with this hotel in Matera. The location was very convenient to the ancient cliff dwellings (less than 5 min. walk). We parked on the street outside the hotel for minimal cost. We liked it enough and had enough to do that we extended our stay by 1 night. The gentleman at the front desk was very... More

Lovely clean room plenty of breakfast abd warm and friendly hosts. Very helpful with information and English speaking making my stay most comfortable. A stroll from railway station and wifi could not be better for that price.

We found the price of 66euro for a double room in low season to be exagerated. this supposedly 3 star hotel has nothing to be remembered for apart from probably the worst breakfast ever (plastic glasses for indecent coffee considering you´re in italy!) to sum up, try to go somewhere else.
