We only stayed in Matera for one in mid June, a pity because it’s a very unusual and interesting place. This comfortable little b and b is situated in an excellent position right next to the main street above the sassi giving immediate access on foot to the historic sassi. Rosanna is very friendly and helpful and after offering us... More

I book this B&B due to TA good comments, I sadly don't agree with the comments here. Most ppl said the host is very nice but in fact the host who me met is very cool and not so helpful. We took train from Bari and discover that this hotel is in a residential building. You need to contact the... More

This was our first stop when arriving in Italy from Naples. We arrived later than expected and had no luggage. The man that met us at the B&B was very nice about us arriving so late. Since we had been traveling for about 22 hours we over slept the next morning and Rosalie could not have been more accommodating. She... More

Very friendly host and very flexible with arrival departure hours. Small, just 3 rooms (which I like). Rooms perfectly equipped. Excellent location just behind the Purgatorio church .Breakfast abundant and good quality. Perfect if you are happy to sleep 50m from the sassi but not in the sassi themselves as the b&b is in a small modern building.

Bed and breakfast run by two sisters. Rooms are located around central chamber were a great breakfast is served. Clean rooms. Comfortable. Good shower. Good price. Wifi. Lots of info available about Matera and the things to find here. To reach the place have to climb some stairs. From outside it seems a normal house. It´s located in a small... More

Despite being in the very heart of town, this B&B is modern and quiet. No effort has been spared to make this a place where guests can feel at home and enjoy the wonders of Matera. I would be very happy to return here.

This was a perfect place to stay just off the Sassi.....easy to walk to everything there. We found free parking nearby. The rooms are great, modern and the hospitality was excellent. Breakfast was quite deluxe, continental....great bread and yogurt and fruit and cappuchino if you want. We had a great stay there.

We were welcomed by Rosanna and shown to a truly wonderful room - modern, clean, well decorated. You are right in the heart of Matera, steps down to the Sassi and old town, easy to find a free car park, wifi available, and a generous Italian breakfast in the morning. We rate this up with 4 star hotels charging twice... More

This was an absolutely wonderful B&B! The hosts picked up us from the bus station on arrival and brought us back when we left. The room was very clean with a contemporary design. We stayed in the Carlo Levi room and found the decor quite interesting. The bed and linens were comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. Breakfast... More

Matera is a wondrous gem. I am so sorry that I was only here for two nights. B&B Donna Eleonora is located in a new apartment building and is run by two lovely sisters, Silvia (who speaks English) and Rosanna. When I emailed them asking directions from the train station, they offered to collect me, which was greatly appreciated. They... More
