Nice hotel with modern style. All is clean and new. Welcoming and friendly staff. Breakfast good but not varied enough. Good location. Not so far from the center. Matera Villa Longo station in 10 minutes walking.

Stayed for just one night. Easy to find with the help of the GPS. Quick check in and staff gave good information for our afternoon in Matera. Excellent parking under the hotel and free. Got the bus in to the old Sassi area and walked back. The room was very clean and had all the usual facilities for a modern... More

Yes, there are fancy, expensive, luxury hotels in the Sassi (Cave District) in ancient Matera but if you want a modern, very clean, well-equipped hotel within 20 min stroll of Old Town at 80 euros (double room and self-service breakfast) you can't go wrong with the Hotel Nazionale. Easy to find (pop the full address in your SatNav) with it's... More

Stayed at the hotel for one night and I would go back to the same one at Matera. As the hotel is freshly build, it is very nice and very clean. English speaking staff, good breakfast (even with some meat and cheese, not only sweet one). And parking space in garage. Everything included (breakfast and parking) for two persons only... More

Staff very nice, especially the waiter during breakfast. Rooms spacy and clean, Wi-Fi signal good even thou you have to log in every freaking time. As the title says, the only cons is the distance from the center (around 20 min walking, relaxed pace)

A modern and well maintained hotel with nice design. The noise from the air conditioning is a little high. The restaurant serving excellent. In 30 minutes walk you reach the Sassi where are restaurants with Italian food.

As in several Italian towns, we found it difficult locating somewhere to stay – the signs tend to disappear, and we went around in a circle several times before finding this – and only then as we asked a local shopkeeper where it was. However, once found, we really liked the hotel. A very modern, clean, light, and well laid... More

We traveled by car, arrived late in the evening and were pleased to find this hotel on the way - vacant rooms, decent price, underground parking. The hotel seemed as if it was built yeasterday and opened today's morning - everything so clean and modern style. We liked the inside atmosphere, simple breakfast and perfect wi-fi (free) in the room,... More

This place was a wonderful find. Extremely modern, quiet with wonderful, friendly and very helpful staff. We arrived late on Saturday night by train and just stumbled upon this hotel. The bed was so comfortable. The breakfast included with the room is fantastic!!! The man serving breakfast is charming. In the morning we checked out and walked the Sassi from... More
