Our first time at The Old Barn and both Leslie & Andrew have ensured we will return. Our "room" consisted of a fully fitted kitchen, lounge, bedroom and bathroom with quadrant shower. Our breakfast was delivered in our room and to our table. The service we received was second to none. This was more of an annexe than a room... More

If one thing can be said about this B&B it's flexibility. We changed our arrival time several times and even a breakfast earlier than anticipated wasn't a problem. Slewing of the twin beds was easily done. In all respects good value for money and we will certainly come back if we are near for whatever reason. It was our third... More

This B and B is exceptionally good and if you are on your way to/from the channel ports it is well worth making a detour off the M20. If you have have business in the Ashford area, as we did, this place makes for a very good start to your day. The owner, Leslie, could not have been more helpful... More

Lovely stay thank you. The barn is gorgeous and the room was just right, very comfortable. Very friendly atmosphere and the breakfast was second to none. Set you up for the day to go castleing. Would definitely recommend it and would love to stay again next time we are down that way.

I will always remember the ******Stars-breakfast @ Betersden Old Barn, thank you so much for having us cooked a proper english meal, before we sadly had to leave to catch our ferry early in the morning. - I don't need to mention how great I slept in that kingsize bed and when I woke up to grab the nice cup... Last minute booking for wedding anniversary . . . The voice on the phone (Leslie) was warm and friendly, which is always a good sign. We were not disappointed. Not just a room, but a private apartment within a modern barn conversion: bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and lounge! Breakfast was perfection - not a lot left on our plates!. Had a... More

I would definitely recommend staying at the Old Barn, our hosts were very friendly and gave us good advice as to where to eat and places to visit. Our room was clean and had all the facilities anyone would need whilst away from home. We had a lovely stay in Kent and would always return to the Old Barn if... More

Lovely welcome, beautiful room and delicious breakfast. Situated in a quiet area, but still just a short drive to local pubs and restaurants - I can highly recommend the Indian restaurant about 2 minutes away.

I am re-locating to the area and coming down regularly to sort things out. I tend to book whatever is available last-minute in order to obtain a discounted rate and have now stayed in quite a few of the hotels/B&Bs in Ashford and Tenterden so able to compare. We were amazed at the facilities in the annexe at the Old... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Forget the Inns next to motorways. Instead enjoy the countryside and stay near Tenterden at the 4**** Bethersden Old Barn bed and breakfast - a Grade 2 listed converted 18th century listed Kentish Barn. There are plenty of exposed beams and original features, the beds are "really comfortable" (so our guests say) and the breakfasts “simply delicious”. We are founder members of the “Kent Breakfast” scheme guaranteeing the majority of our produce is local. The Old Barn Bed and Breakfast is situated near Tenterden, just on the edge of Bethersden village, right in the heart of the "Darling buds of May country". It is a great central base for visiting all the local sights and is convenient for both Eurostar at Ashford, Eurotunnel at Folkestone and the sea crossings at Dover. It's only 37 minutes into central London from Ashford International station, or our local station, Pluckley is only 3 miles. Incidentally, Pluckley is the most haunted village in the UK. Sissinghurst's famous gardens and Scotney and Bodiam Castles (all National Trust) are a short drive, the coast and historic Canterbury a little further. Tenterden (5 miles) offers good shopping and the Kent and Sussex Steam Railway. We have several country pubs close by, The Bull at the top of the hill (approx 350 yards) and The George pub in the village centre (approx 800 yards). Bethersden has a Post Office/Shop, local butcher and a hairdresser. Major supermarkets, restaurants and shops are in Ashford and Tenterden. We have a 1 luxury twin with private facilities and 1 double (actually a 4 roomed luxury suite) available. ... more   less
