Really new, modern hotel in nice location, across the road from Hemisphere and L'oceanographic. Still it's not that far from the historic center: we walked there like 3-4 miles. I arranged a seminar in this hotel to coincide with the America's Cup event. The location of the hotel is Good - it's perfect for 'new' part of town - the City of Arts and Sciences complex, but the old town, ports and beaches are reasonable walk away. We stayed four nights at the Barcelo in early October. Design-wise, expect an über-modern building and rooms. We loved the shower (an oversized glass box with multiple shower heads :) -- there was no 2 ft high bathtub to step over, in contrast to another reviewer's comment).
