Rooms - The rooms in this hotel were refurbed back in 1997 and all though the furniture is a little old fashioned, the room over all is clean and tidy. The bathrooms need to be updated as they now look tired. Our first room was quite small and overlooking the ramp access at the side of the building, we went... more

The room was quite big and had all you need for a pleasant stay. Our room was ground floor and we had a big terrace to sit out on at night. The... more

At best we would rate this as a 3 * hotel - the location however was very good, close to the old town. Our biggest gripe was with our room allocation - which was dark and dingy, on the first floor with virtually no natural light, facing a wall and with bars at the patio doors. Not somewhere you would... more

My wife and I have just returned from the Diplomatic. It's our second visit and it just gets better. The standard of cleanliness and food are superb. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Champagne at breakfast and the selection in the restaurant is far better than any other 4* hotel we have stayed in. Within 2 days of our... more

What a disapointment, the hotel in general was fine until you reached the dining room, the atmosphere was none existant, the staff were dower and the food was worse, 95% of the food was cold and bland, lots of... more

My friend and I arrived at the reception having left the accommodation we booked within 20 minutes. (Did not wish to spend our short break with dirt, noise or drunken neighbours etc.) The reception staff were friendly and soon organised a room for us. The room was small but clean, quiet and very comfortable. We had breakfast only which was... more
