Very central location, right beside the Gran Via metro stop and surrounded by bars, shops & restaurants. Despite the central location there are prostitutes outside 24 hours per day, so it may not be the best place for families, but is very safe at all hours. I see other reviewers commenting that the staff are friendly, that was not my... More

and a gem it is. Lovely room, clean, comfortable with pleasant reception staff. Unfortunately as a previous reviewer has mentioned it is very, very noisy in the front bedrooms and it is a "red Light" district with "ladies of the Night" working 24 hours a day. If you dont mind this and can tolerate the noise from both inside and... More

I've stayed at Hostal Jerez about six times in the last four years and it has never disappointed. It's very central, right by Gran Via Metro and just a 3 minute walk from Puerta del Sol. It's on the 6th floor of a beautiful building and is very safe. This time when I visited I discovered it has a doorman,... More

If you want a clean bed, a small bathroom and a central location, then Hostal Jerez is fine. The negatives issues are: WiFi connection terribly unstable, bathroom lacking sufficient shower soap/gel plus an early check-out time of 11.30am!

I spent three days in Madrid with my family and we chose the Hostal Jerez after reading some reviews on the Internet. We were not disappointed; the hostel is clean, at the very city center, very comfortable and we paid a reasonable price for the triple room. The only thing I did not like was that the central heating was... More

Plus points are price and cleanliness. Metro right outside and all major Madrid sights in walking distance. Disadvantage is the noise from late bars and cafes in the street - enjoy the benefits and take ear plugs! Montera is a redlight area with 24 hour action. Good for access to buzzy area a few streets north for bars, restaurants and... More

I'm used to hostels, so I was just excited to have my own bathroom, A/C & a TV in the room. My basic criteria is that the place has to be clean, smoke free and not a loud party hotel. I'm just there to sleep so I don't care how large the room is or whether it has a view.... More

Not the easiest place to find as very little signage on the street front . The street access looked unoccupied along with several floors above which were all vacant and being renovated. Unfortunately the lifts were not obvious and were in a corner of the foyer of the building so initially used the stairs, which was around 6 flights or... More

I stayed in this Hostal with a friend for 2 nights on the 22nd June 2011. I usually stay in 4* hotels but decided to give a hostal a whirl. We arrived about 1.20 in the early hours of the morning, there is a night security guard in the downstairs lobby and then a short lift ride to the 6th... More
