This hostal is on the 6th floor with more rooms on the 5th floor. When I was there it had 2 elevators but one was always broken. It can take a while to get up to the 6th floor especially if there are others in front of you. There were 4 people in front of me and it took 20... More

This is a great place to stay in central Madrid. It is located at Gran Via metro stop so its very easy to get to. The room was clean and although basic, pleasant and in an excellent state of decor. The ensuite bathroom was absolutely spotless, and well laid out. (I have stayed in 4* hotels that could learn a... More

We spend a wonderful week here and we had a great time, the rooms are very clean and very modern, had all the basics you need except breakfast but you can find a lot of places just outside, and if you wanted american, there is a McDonalds in the same building.

pros:Very center of the city, very clean, very good WiFi, some rooms are bigger, in room bathrooms, cons: not really much to say. Just some rooms are little too small. With one elivator sometimes you have to wait awhile to get to the 6th floor or walk up.

I stayed here for 2 nights. I picked it mainly for location. It's literally in front of the metro entrance at Gran Via. It's also very close to Sol metro station, and within walking distance of the many restaurants and bars in Sol, La Latina, and Chueca. I stayed in a small single room. It was clean and had the... I stayed at Hostal Jerez for a total of 8 days. The accommodations were clean but small -everything you would want. It was extremely convenient, located between Puerta del Sol and Gran Via with a metro stop literally outside the door of the building. Sometimes there was noise from the street during the night but that's the price you pay... More

Nice hostal, cozy and right on the city center. Nice room and great water pressure on the shower. At the end is great to unpack your bags and have a good night of sleep. Free wi-fi with good signal. Very clean and the receptionists were helpful. Great Value.

Hostal Jerez is situated within the heart of Madid, adjacent to the Gran Via Metro. We have tried to stay here each time we have visited Madrid but it's popularity is such that it sometimes isn't possible, which is a shame. The rooms have always been spacious, we have had three and four bedded rooms, always very clean with decent... More

The hotel is situated in the centre of Madrid, so for who’s interested to spend some days in the city the hotel is perfect. The staff is extremely polite and helpful, so I was there with my 6 months old daughter and during day and night they helped me when I needed to heat milk, etc…

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
