Perfect base to explore the city of Madrid. Rooms were beautifully decorated with some personal touches. Breakfast was small but delivered to the room which was nice. Right beside the metro too which was great. Staff were very helpful and provided lots of information and a place to leave our bags after checking out late. Good wifi in the rooms... More

I have stayed here several times - every time I visit the Madrid. The rooms are very nicely decorated, my room had a communal bathroom so had to wait sometimes but it was always very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only a short walk or shorter tram to the centre.

It was a great place to stay. Close to everything, clean, comfortable beds. The comon bathroom was really clean. We didn't try their breakfast, but it's nice to know they offer. People at the front desk were really helpful and nice. They gave us good service even when we were inquiring information.

We stayed in Flat5Madrid for two nights and were so happy we found this hidden treasure at a good price. We had a beautiful view and a clean, crisp room. The bathroom is shared but also very clean! It is very well situated for an amazing Spanish cultural exposure near cafés, great night life areas and a beautiful walk to... More

What a find this hotel, amazingly cheap, spotlessly clean, very centrally located 5 minutes walk from the Gran Via and in a safe area with views over the terracotta roofs. The rooms have air conditioning and sun shutters. Not all the rooms have en suite but it is available. The rooms are not the largest bit spotlessly clean and comfortable beds in such a good location... I've been in this b&b for a few days and this is the duration I suggest if you want to sleep here. The bedroom was very clean,if you want they change your towel everyday. Also the breakfast is very good and fresh and the personnel very kind. Anyway,in room 509,there were some problems. First of all the bath is large... More

I was skeptical about this kind of hotels/hostal. I stayed with my sister for only one night, we had a 15 hour to connection wait to our next flight, therefore, we had a low budget. The place is nice, clean, and it is located at a nice area and it is easy to reach. It might be more oriented to... More

The staff here are wonderful and the rooms on the back side might be fine, but the street side is unbearably noisy, especially after an overnight flight. Madrid is busy until 5 or 6 AM and this hotel is in a prime area for people staying out late. Might be fine on the back end of a trip or if... More

We chose this hostel because of its price and its excellent ratings to spend a stopover night in Madrid and it fully met our expectations. It was spotlessly clean, even the shared bathrooms, the staff were nice and the room size was more than enough (it was a twin-bed double). The A/C worked well. We did not have breakfast there,... I stayed here for two nights at a room with private bathroom. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable if you consider about the location. The room was very clean, quite spacious and the beds comfortable. It also has a very cute small balcony with a very nice view. The closet is quite big so... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
