We booked this hotels for 2 nights in Madrid and we wanted to use it as the base to explore a nearby city. Upon making the reservation on Hotels.com, I rang the hotel and asked if it was possible for us to leave our suitcases at the hotel and collected them a couple of days after checking out. The hotel... More

We thought that this hotel looked fair value for money - and that the 20 euros extra per person compared with similar hotels was worth it since it advertises a spa. Imagine how disappointed we were to find that the spa is an extra charge of 20 euros PER HOUR PER PERSON. This is not made eobvious at all when... More

I stayed here for 4 nights in February and as a single traveller I was first allocated a room endind in ...15: that room looked nice and had all the comforts you could need, but I was just too small. I could not even out my suitcase down. But when I checked with the front desk, I could easily change... More

This hotel is perfectly located for a visit to fantastic Madrid. It is right on the Gran Via, only two blocks from Plaza Espana and two blocks from the hop on/off bus at 54 Gran Via. The hotel is unique in its decoration from the stained glass elevator lifts, to the individual decor of the rooms. The room boasts a... More

Very centrally located. Receptionists were quite unfriendly (the type: you enter and they don't look up), it seems you bother them when you ask for information; room was overlooking the main road, windows not sound proof so you get noise all night long (many police cars and ambulances); heating was very noisy and blanket quite old and not warm enough;... Pros: Nice hotel downtown. The room was clean. Very good breakfrast. Friendly staff. Cons: The rooms (at east the ones my colleagues and I used) are small with "unique" decoration (you can refer to the offcial hotel site for photos).

Loved this hotel. For Spain the rooms were quite ample and comfortable. You have to walk up about 15 steps to get into the hotel, but there were helpful employees that assisted with our bags. Upstairs bar was comfortable and clean and staff was very attentive. Great location for major tourist attractions in Madrid. Loved the hotel

Just returned from a trip to Madrid with friends and were very pleased to stay in such a central location, within walking distance to almost all attractions and with plenty of restaurants on the doorstep. Hotel room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.. Breakfast was great and catered well for everyone. My only slight niggle... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
