I've been host with my girlfriend at Hostal Santo Domingo three nights from 20 to 23 of August. The room was clean, new bathrooms, new furnitures with a nice taste arrangement. Nice people in reception, kind and always available for informations. Excellent even the price especially for being located in the center of Madrid. Compliments.

I stayed here for 4 nights. It's not in Madrid so the AC was needed. Cool room with all you need .a very good WiFi. Plus a computer in the small lounge if needed. It's not a place to meet others . No breakfast room .

To live in the Masalaña area of Madrid! Its close to the most trendy areas of the heart of the City. The hostel is clean with modern rooms and the owners Jeanette and Juan are VERY nice people, Who will also give you good advices about the City. Juan recommend a restaurant close to the hostel - La Mucca Pez... More

Although we only stayed here for one night the staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean, well decorated, heated well, and we were able to check in early which was great. Very central to downtown and shopping, just a quick walk. Great location.

Hostal is really great for low prices. About Dimitar....he is charged my credit card in the US dollars - not informed me!!! Just completed this transaction and asked to sign receipt. I've asked him why he is charged my credit card in US dollars but not in EUR...?! He told me you've got a card in US dollars ..... Great!!!... More

Dear Alexey, I was a little surprised to read your comment on tripadvisor, because I was not aware of the importance of this incidence. Otherwise, naturally, I would have cancelled the operation immediately and done it again. I did not pay much attention to it, because many other customers often leave the choice of the currency to me. I am... More

the staff was very helpful, and the room was new, clean, and very welcoming. the only compaint is that the heating in the rooms (besides the a/c) is only ON when the hotel decides it. the location is good and quite, and a short walk from the METRO.

Great location, great staff, great service! The location is ideal for those who decide to discover the wonderful city of Madrid. It's right in the city centre, all the sightseeing within the walking distance. At the same time, it was very quiet in my room in the nighttime - no outside noise was heard. I'm glad I chose this hostel... More

I was a week with my wife in Madrid for holiday. From the airport you can take the metro to the "Callao" station. Than its like 200 m to the hostal. The hostal is on a little square in a building on the 2 and 3 stock. Very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Location is... More

i have stayed here twice now and both times it has been very good. You get what you pay for but this hostel is friendly, modern and clean. The staff are very helpful, the rooms although are small are compact and very comfortable. The hotel is situated right in the centre and near several metro stations. A downside would be... More

This hotel is located very close to metro Callao, just 10 miniutes from Puerta del Sol. Rooms vere clean and spacious. We had a whirlpool bath in our room, and we were very satisfied with it. There are only minor flaws to mention: 1) the elevator is very tiny, so it cannot accomodate two people and their luggage at the... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
