Well located hotel, affordable and within walking distance of good restaurants, museums, and nightlife. We stayed several nights and are grateful that it was recommended by friends. The bar had no activity, but the included breakfast was ample and satisfying.

I have had to travel to Madrid several times for different reasons, business and vacation, and finally I have found the perfect hotel to base myself in. AC Recoletos is the perfect combination in a simple, yet very nice and comfortable hotel to base yourself. For starters, the location is perfect. You are in a very nice neighborhood (Salamanca), close... More

Super happy with this hotel, especially given some of the critical comments I'd read online. It's in a fantastic location in a lovely neighborhood near upscale Salamanca. Great places to eat nearby if you don't feel like trekking into the tourist-central areas near Plaza Mayor etc. Super easy walking to the Prado and Thyssen museums as well as the beautiful gardens... First trip to Madrid. Couldn't have picked a better location. 30-40 min walk to sights or 5 min walk to upscale shopping if desired. Safe neighborhood. Friendly staff. Had an upgrade suite (2nd floor) which was fantastic with two balconies. Double sink bathroom, separate tub and shower. Would definitely stay their again. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only thing lacking... More

The hotel was in a great location to walk anywhere you wanted to in the city. It is also very safe to walk around at night. The staff was very helpful, especially Rebeca. She was a great help before and during our stay (with restaurant reservations, recommendations, etc.). The only reason this hotel did not get 5 stars was because... More

It's very well located, it's basic but comfortable, the lighting is excellent, the shower is simple to use (it is incredibly how often showers need a degree in engineering to operate), it's well maintained and clean and the style is simple and modern. All you need on a business trip. Breakfast was OK, if not particularly good value for €20,... More

I stayed last week for 3 nights for business. Summary: Boutique-ish hotel near many sights. NOT a business hotel for those of you needing things like scanners, a business center, etc. Positive: I found the staff to be extremely genuine and caring. I had packages delivered and everyone was so kind. I also had some coffee at their bar and... More

Rooms are great, beds comfy, the staff could not be more helpful, the restaurant recommedation I got was fantastic. I'm just sorry it was only a late check in and early departure. Better than any 'real' Marriott i've stayed. Many thanks

Stayed for one night. Arrived late so no services were open. Went to the room and enjoyed the facilities. Breakfast the next day was limited but service was goo. Reception was professional and offered lots of advice and guidance.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
