I spent 5 nights in the hostel Gay in Madrid (http://www.chuecatravel.com/) at Eester and was confrounted to a homophobic agression from the hostel's owner . Even without any independent reviews available, we decided to take the risk and go to "Madrid House" in Madrid-Chueca, because the majority of the other affordable places were unavailable or with bad reviews in TripAdvisor.
