Overall a clean and nice hostal with an independent bathroom. I would stay there again. Is near everything. This is not a destination hotel but a place where you can comfortably relax after spending your time touring, shooping, partying and eating. Is a great buget hotel room for those who just want a inexpensive resting place.

I am just back from a 5 day stay at Madrid House. Overall it's a cute place. I liked my room. Madrid House is in the lively Chueca neighborhood. It is a walking distance from most landmarks. I walked to the Royal Palace, the Sabatini Gardens and the Prado. It is in the same block then a few good restaurants.... More

This was a chic comfortable place to stay right in the heart of Madrid. The staff were friendly, and it was value for money. Most of the staff speak English (I speak little to no Spanish so they were really a blessing). I had a great stay at Madrid house

See my previous review of this place. It has just improved since last time. The bathroom had been improved so it is better and the room was repainted. This place is a gem in Madrid. I love the location in the gay area. It is close to everything and it is really worth it to upgrade to a superiour room... More

Madrid house in a really perfect location, almost bang in the middle of the lively Chueca barrio. From the outside it's barely noticable with only a small sign beside the front door and can be easily missed for those who arrive on their own. However, we asked for directions before our arrival and was surprised to be offered a very... More

The room: We booked a superior room with jacuzzi and it was great value for the money. It was a nice and large room with two small balcony with street view. A nice view of local streets with small cozy shops, cafe and restaurants. Free minibar with softdrinks and water that was refilled every day. The bed was great to... More

Small, cheap and nice hotel on the edge of the gay neighborhood Chueca. Clean and nice rooms with airco. The beds are good but rather short and small. Had breakfast included in a bar nearby. breakfast is typically Spanish. I definitely will stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay here. It is close to the Metro and Puerto del Sol, and lots of shops and restaurants. I found the hotel quiet, except for street noise on a Thursday night. The housekeeping woman is very friendly and helpful, but knowing some Spanish will help as she does not speak English. (There is a gentleman who works... More

Rooms (especially bathrooms) are small, but well equipped (even there is a desktop in the room). No receptionist, so you need to be individual. Great location, in the heart of Chueca, gay district. This also means that it is a bit noisy, but that is normal in the city centre.

Basic hostel with private bath very clean room staff was very friendly. I felt very safe there and will plan to stay there again in Madrid. The location of this property central location and near metro makes it easy to get to and its is in the heart of the gay district. Love it

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
