It was our first time to stay in a Hostal. We didn't know what to expect but decided to go with the flow. Great price (130 euro for 3 nights). Felt like staying in my Grannies! Right in the best location in town.

I had a lovely stay at this hostal. The staff was very friendly and great. This is a family run place, the older couple do not understand English and I do not speak Spanish. It was difficult but it was manageable. Their daughter was there most of the time and she understand english. They keep their place very clean and...

really clean, easy to get to from the airport. not your typical hostel - not ideal for socializing but the air conditioning is great so who cares. the hosts don't speak any english so be prepared. would definitely stay here again. check out http://www.newmadrid-tours.com/ while you're there!

We stayed in Madrid for 3 nights. The hostal was a little bit hard to find since there is no big sign. The staff, Maria was very friendly and helpful. She provided us maps and information for attractions in Madrid without us asking. The room was clean and roomy. The bathroom was very clean as well, but the one we...

This hostal is a lovely family-run place with decent bathrooms and a great location. The rooms are very bright and have lovely balconies over a (somewhat noisy) pedestrian street. We stayed for 5 nights and had a great time!

This place lived up to everything I was expecting... good, clean, comfortable, friendly accommodation in an excellent area of Madrid. We had a delightful room with a little balcony overlooking Fuencarral Street and a small ensuite bathroom.
Having just read the previous reviews by CKcapetown and Alba22, there's little more I can add, except to say that I completely agree...

A friend and I stayed at Hostal Las Murallas for 3 nights, and I would recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Madrid on a budget. I am very grateful for having found this hidden gem through Tripadvisor, and I would gladly return whenever I visit Madrid again. The hostel is family-run by a very friendly elderly couple, and its location...

-location: First of all the location is great. 2 min away from Gran Via which is the main street in...

I stayed at this hostel which by the way, is literally right in the center of the city, the location was the best part. It's not the greatest place to meet people if that's important to you. The place seemed clean but it was very run down. Our bathroom was cleaned everyday and we had fresh towels waiting which was...

Stayed there for 6 nights with my girlfriend in a double room, last week in April 2009.
The double room with bathroom was deacent size and was cleaned every day. The beds were great. The walk up the stairs was not a big deal.
The hostel is cheap and the people are frendly! Loaction is superb and just a short...
