If you like boutique hotels, Hospes Madrid is an excellent choice. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the location is great, and the breakfast was wonderful. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated.

We were very pleased with Hospes Madrid Hotel. The rooms were clean, bed comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We were surprised that the room was as large as it was. Lucas at the front desk was fantastic in arranging meals for us at different restaurants around the city, and Ilian was as helpful and friendly as could be... More

We had the best staff experience and were happy to have met Lucas and Rumen. Their restaurant suggestions were right on, and much appreciated. And, yes the hotel is in a very convenient location. The breakfast was also outstanding, with great choices in the buffett, and they will also accomodate other breakfast requests without cost...pleasing. I also had a spa... More

There are many hotel choices in Madrid and over the years, I've stayed in many...I've not stayed in another Hospes property in Spain so I cannot compare it to them...What I can say is that it is a very nice place to call home in Madrid. My wife, six year old daughter and I stayed for 3 nights in mid-February.... More

Went for a special birthday & hotel celebrated this by complementary cava & birthday cake which we enjoyed. Good position - right by the park & walking distance to other attractions. Room very nicely decorated & comfortable. Enjoyed using the spa. Staff helpful eg booked restaurant for us before we arrived. Breakfast good. Perhaps lacked a couple of finishing touches... More

I booked Hospes as a treat hotel for a solo trip to Madrid. The location is great, on the Plaza de Independencia but my room was extremely quiet. The room was lovely, nice toiletries, fluffy towels, robes and slippers. Turn down every evening with fresh slippers and towels if needed. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet... More

We spent three days and two nights at the Hospes Madrid. We got a great deal on our booking, which included breakfast and a 30 minute massage and use of the spa facilities, which were excellent. The location is very central, opposite Retiro Park and close to several metro stops, museums, shops and restaurants. Check in was smooth and efficient,... More

We spent four nights here in February and we really well looked after. The rooms (102 and 103) were spacious and well appointed. The views over the plaza were excellent. The location, at the north west corner of Retiro is good as most places are walkable to, including the train station for trips to Toledo etc. The airport bus stop... More

My wife and I spent a two days here, Thursday until Saturday, and found it just perfect for us. We chose a Deluxe room, which did have a rather open bathroom plan. Great for a romantic stay with your wife, but less great if someone wants privacy. The front desk staff was friendly, always helping the moment they spotted us,... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
