We stayed at this hotel for our anniversary last weekend. The service from the front desk staff was brilliant, particularly Julio. They suggested places for us to go and see and recommended some great restaurants in particular Ten con 10 which was a fantastic evening. The hotel is also in a great location for sightseeing. Would definitely recommend.

While in town for a international award ceremony, the Hospes Madrid proved to be a perfect choice. An upscale renovation of an 1883 apartment house and run by affable, competent, and caring staff, we could ask for little more. The front desk is professionally managed by Daniel Gomez, who not only impeccably followed-up on unsolicited offers to help and otherwise... More

Stayed here a few days ago on business for 2 nights. The hotel itself is wonderful, beautiful smells on the entrance and staff are attentive and friendly. The room itself is beautiful, great design of decor and very nice shower/toilet facilities. There are a couple of things that would make this hotel truly 5Q*, there are a couple of things... More

"Friendly, professional, outstanding". My second visit to Hospes Madrid, I stayed four days and all staff were wonderful. Special thank you to Maria, Vanesa and Lucas who I saw each day and couldn't have been more helpful. A divine boutique hotel in a great location.

When the taxi pulled up to a crowded roundabout, very busy with buses, cars and lots of traffic we were apprehensive, but as soon as you walk in, wow, lovely calm water sounds, gorgeous smells of cinnamon and lemon, lovely helpful staff and a fabulous clean spotless comfy room. Five minutes after arriving a knock on the door and we... More

Excellent small hotel, and very good location next to Retiro Park which was lovely to walk around. There is a bus stop outside the hotel which serves one of the tourist routes as well as many of the local bus routes, the metro station is also just a few yards away and the Plaza is regularly swarming with taxis, however... We spent three days in Hospes Madrid in May and it was really lovely. When you would normally wish a room "with a view " (in this case to the Retiro park) my husband and I were glad to have a room facing the backyard: much quieter, that is, better sleep. Madrid is a truthfully fascinating city with so much... More

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here in April. We had some issues at check in but after a few calls to our travel agent they were resolved to our satisfaction. Great location for walking, particularly to the Prado and museums. Concierge helpful with restaurant recommendations. Rooms very good but suite had a two story configuration which was a bit... More

Visited this hotel after having had a few days in the country. May have been bad timing! Don't get me wrong - the room was lovely, the bed wonderfully comfortable, the staff all very helpful and friendly. It is on Plaza Independiencia. Don't expect peace and quiet. Other than that a lovely stay and particular thanks to Iaiun at reception... More

This hotel was recommended to us for our stay in Madrid. It is within easy walking of all the main sites. Lovely room and although it is on the front of the hotel remarkably quiet. Breakfast and service excellent. Went out to eat in the evenings. Only problem is local restaurants are closed until 20:00 so best to go further... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
