Room was perfect size for my wife and I. Lucas attended to all of our needs. We really enjoyed the location. Easy walking distance to Prado, shopping, great restaurantts and neighborhoods and directly across from Retiro Park.

We stayed at Hospes Madrid, again, and as always found it a peaceful and quit stay in an excellent and busy location. However, Julio, now our friend and an excellent concierge made our stay perfect. Perfect advise on restaurants, transport and everything else in a humble, serviceminded and still energized way. You truly made a great impression last time we... More

Staid in Hospes Madrid property in early April with my wife and couldn't recomend it any more: - outstanding location in Salamanca (with many very nice restaurants) and right across from retiro park which is nicest place in Central madrid for a run or walk - very nice and helpful staff. This hotel truly deserves its five stars. Not only are the rooms clean and modern, but the staff is extremely friendly and the breakfast is outstanding. We arrived to this hotel in the afternoon, tired from traveling all day and carrying our heavy luggage. Right away someone came to greet us, offered us drinks and showed us to our rooms.... More

I stayed here for business and decided to stay for the rest of the weekend because the hotel was so nice. The staff were fantastic and always extremely helpful. Try to get one of the larger rooms in the top floor, the split level mezzanines are very comfortable.

The service was outstanding. After check-out, I had an hour before leaving to the airport. Lucas the concierge offered a bed in the spa to rest before traveling. It was a thoughtful and considerate thing to think of. The bed led to a refreshing nap and I was grateful. When in Madrid, try to stay at the Hospes Mad

I had high hopes for Hospes having read all the reviews. However, having just stayed (for business) at the Gran Melia Fenix, I'm afraid I was disappointed with Hospes. Let me start with the good stuff: The location is great. Right on the Plaza Independencia, great for sightseeing, shopping, etc. When we were finally shown to our room we ended... More

We were very pleased with Hospes Madrid Hotel. The rooms were clean, bed comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We were surprised that the room was as large as it was. Lucas at the front desk was fantastic in arranging meals for us at different restaurants around the city, and Ilian was as helpful and friendly as could be... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
