The hotel is in a great location, very central. The staff on reception were very helpful. The room was a good size and very clean. Was great to have a fridge in small kitchen off bedroom. Breakfast was plentiful and served till noon. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Stayed here on business for a 4 day trip and it was really cool! nice spacious room with small kitchenette. Staff were really helpful when my safe didn't work but they soon sorted it & even left me some sweets and a small note book to say sorry. breakfast was reasonable enough for the size of the hotel and there... Close to the metro - pretty central near to the Gran Via. Hotel room was very spacious and overlooked the square at the back of the hotel - black out blinds which were useful. Friendly helpful staff who gave us a gadget enabling us to access free wifi across the whole city!

Had such a warm welcome on arrival from Pedro. Our room was great - clean and spacious with great wifi connection! And the location was superb - right in the centre. We walked to the palace and then back through the centre to the parque so a great place to be able to see Madrid. Breakfast was delicious - huge... More

Staff here were quite accommodating & hotel is in a very good location. We stayed in the standard room which was fine for 4 nights & even had a small kitchen which was very handy. The only issue was the noise inside the hotel, staff were hoovering, cleaning & banging around outside our room from 9am every morning, the level... More

Room Mate Laura had been recommended to us by Australian friends, and it did not disappoint. From the location in the old heart of Madrid and proximity to the Metro (but walking distance to everything) to the welcoming, friendly and helpful staff to the light and spacious rooms and comfortable beds, this hotel had everything we wanted (including a kitchenette)... The location of the hotel is perfect. It is conveniently located at a walking distance to 4 metro stations Callao, Santo Domingo, Opera and Sol. The staffs are nice and all speak perfectly English. They even lent the guests a device so as to use free Wi-fi on the street. The only problem that we experienced was that the room... More

Even during the heat wave, the room was nice and cool. Electric shades kept the room dark, so we slept until noon. We stayed in a duplex, which was great for two people coming from two different time zones. Quiet but minutes from Sol, Opera and Callao.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
