What with the weak dollar, we felt we did well in choosing the Hostal Alaska. It is very centrally located--just off the Puerta del Sol. The proprietor was lovely. He seemed genuinely concerned about us and was very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. more

Hostal Alaska is in a fantastic location a few minutes from the Sol metro station. Located on the 4th floor, the rooms in the hostel are quiet, clean, safe and spacious. Juan Carlos, with his giant dog Occo, lives on the 5th floor. He is very helpful. His dining and travel suggestions are spot on. Will stay here again. more
