Top hotel.Perfect location in the center of Madrid. Very friendly and helpful personel. We had the family room, while we booked a triple room. It was a very beautiful room with beautiful bathroom and lots of space. Breakfast with extensive range, taken much care of. When I come back to Madrid I would book this hotel again definitely.

Booked it as part of the holiday package. Nicely located, easy access to most attractions. Bedroom is spacious, bed is really comfortable, though some of the furniture looks a bit old, the wardrobe certainly need a better handle!

I stayed here a couple of days while on business. The hotel was very conveniently located within walking distance of many tourist attractions. The hotel room was relatively spacious compared to other hotels I stayed in in major cities in Europe. The breakfast buffet had some items that were very good. The hotel staff was very friendly. I've been to... More

Really lovely hotel, located right in the centre. Hotel room was lovely. Very spacious, nice bathroom with posh shower! Staff very helpful. Would highly recommend staying here. We found nearest metro was Santa Domingo. But advise you to print map as hotel is a bit hidden from street view.

Perfect location (right next to Gran Vía) and personally too as it is next to my grandma's house so I can visit easily. The staff is very professional, the rooms are clean and modern. I would recommend it to everyone but especially those on business trips, couples, friends and lone travelers.

Hotel has been nicely remodeled with comfortable rooms and a pleasant atmosphere. I personally enjoyed the breakfast buffet and felt they mostly kept up with replenishing. The breakfast and lobby area run together, but did not feel crowded, to me Fortunately not during breakfast, but at some times, there was some kind of scent machine that I found off putting.... The hotel is average to ok.. It is really central to start exploring the city. Only the breakfast really is annoying. PreProcessed scrambled eggs from the microwave, disgusting. In total everything looks a bit used. Should be refurbished to have a clean look and feel again.

Good comfortable hotel right off the Grand Via. Modern and clean with some nice restaurants close by. Rooms slightly smaller than expected, and I can never get used to a European "double" being 2 singles shoved together! Breakfast was good too but the tables were too close together. But overall an enjoyable stay. Unfortunately I was only there one night... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
