Stayed here from 13-16th. Overall, a really lovely hotel and not much to complain about. Great location, and nice staff. Downsides, no English TV. I know you're not on holiday to watch TV but on the Tuesday night, where we chose to have a night in it would have been good to have the choice. Also, breakfast is expensive and... More

Stayed at this hotel for a weekend last week with 7 work colleagues for a work weekend away. Nice hotel. Very basic with reception, breakfast room but no bar or restaurant. However the rooms were lovely and spotlessly clean , the location was great, the staff were helpful, friendly and non intrusive. Within walking distance of everything. Great value too... More

This hotel is NOT worth more than two stars. Nasty spots all over the carpet. Broken chair. The bed was hard and the pillows was not good. The staff except for one lady was not serviceminded at all. Breakfast was terrible. Etc...The hotel was just not worth the money. The best thing about this hotell was it location.

The hotel room was modern in design. Quite clean. The front desk attendant, Guillermo, was very helpful. He gave us directions and made sure we were happy with our room. We were able to get a coffee without having to buy the breakfast there. That doesn't happen in many places in Europe. Good location. We walked everywhere.

The location is good, the room is sufficient in size, loved the slanting ceiling with the sky view. Friendly and helpful staff... However, breakfast is truly terrible... cold scrambled eggs (made from pasteurized egg), 1 toaster (very slow), no real options if you don't drink milk.. etc etc. The building is run down, maintenance is not tip-top. Has no restaurant,(and... More

The hotel is clean, comfortable and in a good location within a short walk to the Prado Museum. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the hotel was in good condition. Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
