We dug this place. Very hip design. We got a Double Standard with an exterior view and loved it. Even though we were on the first floor overlooking the street, those double windows really keep out the noise. I was surprised. The location is simply superb, being right on the Plaza Santa Ana. We went shopping nearby, ate dinner a... more

This was my first experience of Room Mate hotels and they provide a different experience than the usual, boring hotels. The rooms are fairly basic, but well designed and modern with everything you need, and all for a very reasonable price. this hotel is also in a great location, right in the heart of a lively area with lots of... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights around mid June. It couldn't have been better PRO: - Outstanding design. Boutique Hotel feel. Attention to details while still being functional. - Great Value. I selected a standard room (non refundable option) on the Room Mate website at it cost me 337 Euro for 3 nights for two people, taxes and... more

Fab hotel right in the centre of Madrid. The rooms were cool and contemporary but not pretenious. We stayed in a standard double and were quite suprised at how spacious the room was. The staff were extremely helpful and we were able to check our email on the laptop based in the reception area. The hotel is on quite a... more

We stayed at Room Mate Alicia for a total of 3 nights. The first 2 were in a regular room on the 5th floor, overlooking the plaza, and we had no problem with noise. The room was a bit small but standard by European sizes and fine considering the price. The 3rd night we were in a 4th floor room... more

We received great service from the hotel from the moment of booking to the moment of departure and as a group of 13 we could not have been straightforward guests. The staff were all very pleasant, efficient and very helpful and spoke excellent English. Nothing was too much trouble. A laptop with free internet access was also freely available in... more

The Alicia is all that is described in the reviews. I stayed in room 209 which is facing the insides of the hotel (no view over the square). Even though for some people this would be bad, for me was actually good. As I was travelling with a baby aged 2 years it allowed me to protect against the "movida"... more

We stayed at this hotel, as we have never stayed in Madrid, we didn't know exactly where to pick, however this hotel was right on one of the squares and in a perfect location. The staff were really friendly and the place was spotlessly clean! There is a fantastic place just opposite the hotel that does a mean calamari that... more

We stayed at the Room Mate Alicia for 7 nights in May 2009 as part of a larger group of people visiting Madrid for a wedding. We loved this hotel and would recommend it highly to anyone. The location, overlooking the Plaza Santa Ana, is wonderful. The Plaza has lots of cafes, and we spent a lot of time there... more

I visited Madrid after 6 years. I wanted a hotel close to Plaza Santa Ana, though I wondered about the noise level. We stayed at Alicia for 5 nights. We had booked a standard room, but when we arrived they told us they had upgraded us to a suite for the first night. What a nice surprise! The room was... more
