This hotel has one of the best if not the best location in Madrid, walking distance to all major known attractions in the city. Right in front of Plaza Santa Ana, less than 5 min walk to Puerta de Sol. You'll find a restaurant, cafe and tapas bar in every corner. If visiting Madrid for first time, I would definitely... More

Stayed for 2 nights in spite of bars around had a good night sleep room facing to street, enjoyed the design of the room. Changed from room giving on inside felt claustrophobic. Close to puerto del sol , Huertas calle with local restaurants central for Thyssen and Prado museum. Breakfast ok.

Upgraded to the top floor corner room.. Well worth it, great views of the square and amazing bath by the window! All the staff were very helpful and polite and spoke good English which was great! The breakfast was also nice. I'd definitely stay again 👍

We stayed for three nights after arriving from barcelona. The hotel is located extremely well and is a ten minute walk to Sol or to the Orado museum. It's located bang on the very busy Santa Ana square which is an excellent spot for tapas bars and restaurants and also is very busy. The hotel is small but very cosy... More

Late arrival with easy checkin. Comfortable room with nice Decor. Brilliant walk in shower. Shame that the television didn't have a good picture. Great location right in downtown Madrid. Either walk there or get a taxi. Don't bother with a car as access is poor

A 10 min walk from Renfe Cercanias Plaza Mayor trainstation. Close to plaza mayor; cibeles, mercado san Miguel, plaza España and everything could be walked Rooms are tiny for a double room and beds are not separated. The shower door is transparent so privacy while showering is not one of the main hotel's strengths also they're pretty hard to open... More

All very good reviews by previous guests. It is very conveniently located and easy taxis outside. Not so convenient for public transport if tired at the end of the day. Breakfast looks good but there was a dead fly on my fruit and all the dishes from the previous night still stacked up in the kitchen. Staff very friendly and... More

Spend three nights here and couldn't fault the place. Really nice room overlooking Plaza Santa Ana - very modern, roomy and comfortable. Staff exceptionally pleasant and helpful. It's in a great area, within easy walking distance of to Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum etc. Lots of good bars and restaurants round about so didn't need to to venture too far afield in... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
