+ Elegant and romantic rooms that made my Spanish girlfriend swoon. We had a quiet corner room with two Juliet balconies, hardwood floor, tray ceiling, fridge/mini-bar, free internet, and comfortable king bed. + Great location. I have been to Madrid many times; this hotel is in the middle of everything--the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor 10 min walk to the... more

The hotel was very nice. Our room was clean and spacious. The location is great--easy walk to Plaza del Sol, tons of restaurants, el Prado, el Palacio Real, el Retiro, etc. Front desk was helpful in assisting with directions. Free beer (!) in the lobby also. I would recommend Vinoteca for tapas, just down the street, on the Plaza Santa... more

This little hotel is off the major streets but extremely well situated regarding museums, shopping, and sightseeing. Everything (Palacio Real, the Prado, and Gran Via) is within walking distance and the metro is only a couple of blocks away. The hotel employees spoke good English for the most part and were very helpful with recommendations, etc. more

We stayed at this hotel when we first visited Madrid and considering that we had got a fantastic deal with Expedia, we were pleasantly surprised by its high standards. Our room was very large, clean and just generally nice. The only reason why I'm not giving it full marks is because the air-con didn't seem to work properly / the... more

Plan to stay in one of the gorgeous rooms with frescoed ceilings, and you won't be disappointed. We stayed in 203, a suite with two such ceilings. Room 202 - a superior that we saw - is if anything even lovelier although without the sitting room. What could be improved? First, soft towels - the ones provided are so over-laundered... more

Located in historic center of Madrid near the main museums, Palace, cathedrals, etc. Helped arrange reservations for an excellent Flamenco show within easy walking distance (Casa de Patas). Staff extremely helpful. Room was very nice, air conditioned, pedestrian street view. You might say a little noisy at night but that's because the Spanish eat late and the street doesn't quiet... more

What a great hotel! Apart that the foyer is really very *** , low ceilings and decorated like a Hong Kong handbag and accessory shop, lots of white marble, somewhat tawdry light fittings and brass detailing. However the rooms are quite splendid - spacious, well-furnished, great bathrooms, comfortable beds. To people who trot out the time-worn adage that they "are... more
