Hotel excellent as always, much improved by elevator from street to reception. Very good value. Stay spoilt by poor service (twice) in restaurant which I understand operated independently. Waiters slow to come to table, also unable to provide proper breakfast, eggs etc. The redecoration with white tiled walls give the place an unfortunate aspect. This a pity because the hotels... This hotel is so good I don't even know where to start. I visited a long time ago but I'm sure it's just as good now as it was back then. I don't remember all the details, but the service was excellent, it was in a great location, and even though I've been to lots of hotels, this is the... More

This hotel is a bit old but it is very clean and well maintained. If you are in Madrid for a few days and looking for a very reasonable but clean and comfortable place to stay, I can recommend this hotel. The entrance is not flashy and the lobby is cramped up but the rooms are spacious and the staff... More

Although steps at entrance are a problem especially for the elderly with luggage, staff are very helpful and rush to help. Understand this will be remedied soon by installation of a new entrance facility with lift/escalator. Otherwise nice big and comfortable room, in good situation near fine shopping an dining facilities, or for eating in the hotel bar/cafe, or even... More

This quiet older hotel is located in the heart of the city on Marquis Urquillo, and is close to everything including the Metro. There are lots of restaurants, bars and cafes around and major tourist ares are within walking distance. There is a huge park at the bottom of the street. Rooms have fridge/hotplate/sink and dishes are provided. Rooms are... More

We've stayed at this hotel every year for the past twelve and have always found it perfect for our needs. The staff is friendly, rooms are large, security is good; front door is locked at night and staff is always at front desk to let you in. A decent snack bar and an excellent restaurant are both on premises. Its... More

I moved to madrid in 2004 and mt work put me up here for 2 weeks while I found a home. We kinda just send everyone there and I have no idea why. Service is unremarkable, the location good not great, the hotel is shabby, the rooms large (especially for Europe) but bland, dining not even pasable, and all of... More

My friends and I stayed at the Aparto-Hotel Rosales in July. Everything about our stay was fantastic! If you have the chance to go.... do it! Madrid is a wonderful city. We stayed here after being in Paris for a week... and compared to Paris, Madrid was so amazing. It was a clean, beautiful, safe city! Everyone was friendly, helpful,... More

Staying in Arguelles

Neighborhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
