We stayed at this excellent hostel its situation is ideal for those who want to be in the centre of the city near the shops and also easy access to all the excellent things to see and do whilst in Madrid. This is a really good place to stay, great location and conditions. Everything is new and clean and the employees are helpful. The room I stayed in was pretty big, modern, had plenty of natural light, a table, air conditioning, TV and a nice bathroom. The bed had a good size and was comfortable. Wi-Fi worked perfectly.

This place looked newly renovated. Everything was clean and quite nice. The friendly receptionist checked us in and that was pretty much the extent of our interaction, which was fine. We had no problems and didn't need any attending to. The Hostal was located on a busy pedestrian shopping area in the center of town. We walked pretty much everywhere... More

During the busy Christmas season, I booked a single bed room. I was given one of their unrenovated rooms, which I never saw in their pics when booking. Everything was fine except for the heater, which didn't heat well at all, and the bathroom. The toilet smelled, and when I showered the curtain was not long enough. Water went everywhere.... More

the hostal is in the centre of madrid, 10 minutes walking from "puerta del sol" and one minute from gran via! the staff is very helpful and nice and the rooms, even if they are small, are very clean (every day someone cleans and smartens up them). moreover, there's a wireless connection (with the hostal password). super :)

The Bathrooms are small and the furniture is old, but .you make 5min on foot untill Puerta delssol and 1min till Gran Via and metrou station. The services are nice and the rooms are smelling good. The inconvenience is that they don't understand english, but opened to use google translate:))...nice hostel....really enjoy it

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
