We stayed in the Hostal Oriente for a three night city break. It took us a few moments to find it as it has no front windows, just a door between two restaurants. You buzz the door for access, but once you have your room key you swipe yourself in as you please. The reception is on the first floor... more

We stayed 3 days at the end of October. The first room was quite large but faced the street and construction, so it was noisy. We changed rooms and the second room was very quiet but smaller and the shower was very, very small. No washing your feet in there. The hotel's internet was down, which was a pain, too. more

If you want to have a comfortable stay in Madrid but don't have a lot of money to spend in hotels, this is the place to you need. Hostal Oriente is almost like a hotel: private room with private bathroom; within walking distance from the main Madrid atractions (Palacio Real, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol), few steps from the Opera... more

The hotel is in a great location, surrounded by restaurants and close to all the major tourist sites like Puerto del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace. I arrived about 11:30 a.m. and was checked in but asked to come back in 45 minutes so the room could be cleaned. Since they were upgrading me to a double room... more

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights for vacation. We arrived late and checked in without a problem, but the receptionist stayed on the phone for half the time while we were trying to check in. This place is great because it is located on one of the major streets in Madrid, Calle del Arenal extremely close to... more

I stayed at 3 different hotels in Madrid - this one being the cheapest and lowest * quality. I was so surprised that this actually turned out to be the best one! It is extremely clean and in a great location. And quiet!! Finally, a hotel in Madrid that is quiet!! The front desk staff didn't speak English and my... more

We arrived at this hotel around 9 am and were given a room right away! The room was pretty small, but more than enough room for us and our luggage. The room was spotless and looked as if it had all been recently renovated. Everything looked very new. Towels were replaced daily. Reception did not speak English but we didn't... more

Stayed here for 3 nights in May. This is a great hotel if you are looking for good location, walking distance to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Palacio Real, and close to underground. The rooms were far better than you can expect for this type of hotel. The owner clearly takes price in his hotel, clean and looked renovated.... more
