Everything they say about this hotel on their website is what you get, no need to mention anything about the rooms or design of the place other than if you don't like it you will never be pleased anywhere in the world. Now there are two ways of doing things in this hotel, go for it or use the rest... more

Stayed here on a reccomendation.... Utterly fabulous, I won't go on about the design, it has all been said. The main restaurant was absolutely first class, inspired menu, superb service... and.... I could relax with a nice cigar afterwards, like one could always do before the world went mad. Great staff.... all round faultless stay and I'll go back. more

Hotel Silken Puerta America Madrid is, by far, the most unique architectural concept hotel I have experienced. Each floor has been designed by a different world-renowned architect, each with a very different design aesthetic, including the all-white star trek/space age approach of Kathryn Findlay, Jean Nouvel's sexy Asian motif, starkly minimalist Zaha Hadid, to the metallic optical illusion of the... more

Location - twenty minutes from the centre of Madrid. Quite a working class zone. I imagine this hotel was great about five years ago. Due to poor maintenance it is showing its age. Reception staff at check-in attempt a hard sell on room upgrades. The desperation is quite sad to see. Housekeeping provides a poor service. Complaints to aloof management... more

There are many more conveniently located hotels in Madrid that charge the same (or less) for an equivalent level of comfort and service. However, I'm pretty sure this is the only one where your stay is a 'design' experience, where you will open the door to your room with genuine anticipation, and where you will be delighted (and possibly irritated)... more

Stayed at this hotel as it looked interesting and because it was very reasonably priced as part of hotel/flight August bank holiday deal. As other reviewers have mentioned and as you can see on the website each floor has a very different character as its designed by a different architect. We stayed on the Foster floor in the most basic... more

This hotel definitely has the "Wow" factor! The multi co loured facade is very eye catching and the interior even more so. You have to visit every floor to appreciate the stunning interior design, as no two are alike. The glass floor on the 13th, where you can look down between your feet and see the terrace far below, is... more

We spent 3 nights in Madrid – 1 night at Silken Puerto and 2 nights at the Room Mates Mario. We picked the Silken because of the reviews we read, but the icing on the cake was the price was good as well. Just under €100 for the night. A bargain! As everyone says, the location is slightly out, but... more

Just spent 4 nights here in a standard room on floor 8. Had a choice of a few floors when we checked in. Impressed with the room - nice big bathroom and powerful shower. Big window - and black out blinds - but no balcony access. Huge comfy bed, with crisp white cotton bed linen and choice of pillows. The... more

I spent 4 very comfortable nights in this hotel in early September. I thoroughly enjoyed the interesting and sometimes plain bizarre (Plasma Studio - floor 4) design of the hotel. I stayed on the 6th floor - which was relatively sedate & normal. I would love to return and stay on one of the more extreme floors. The thing that... more
