Food lovers paradise, tapas, calamari ring rolls you will stand in line for 20 minutes but worth every bite. Pizza great. Do a Flamengo show, it is the most passionate performance I saw in my life. Shopping is great in Madrid. Street side cafe's are on every plaza and wonderful, you can just sit and watch everyone go by. Parks... More

the hotel is really well located, at walking distance of Madris city center, shopping areas, restaurants,... The room I was given was OK for sleeping but not much more, you cannot spend much time there. The air conditioning was noisy, carpet in the floor, and some other small nuisances were uncomfortable. I think some refurbishing would be a good idea.... More

An excelent location. The hotel is near all the major atractions and tapas bars. The problem are the rooms. I booked a quadruple and there were a few wrong things. The master bed has no nightstand or any type of light so you cannot read on your bed. The furniture is showing its age and the decor is poor.

Nice hotel, superbly located with descent rooms and friendly service, You see that the hotel is becoming somewhat older (infrastructure) but room is spacious and tidy and it is ideal for a city trip or business stay.

The location of this hotel is superb – within walking distance to most of the major attractions in Madrid (Puerta del Sol, Prado Museum, Thyssen Bornemisza Museum, Plaza Mayor, Opera House, Royal Palace etc). The Sevilla Metro station is in front of the hotel. Taxis are easily available in this area. There are also many excellent restaurants and tapas bars... More

The hotel is located in the center next to a subway station. Staff is very polite. The beds were very hard and the pillow a bit uncomfortable. One peculiarity was the dimmed glass walls of the bathroom. You can see what are the other people doing in there. Otherwise a good place.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
