The location of this hotel is absolutely brilliant. Walking distance to major attractions (Prado, Royal Palace etc.) Good sized rooms (5th floor), simple but good breakfast. Internet connection flawless. Just outside the door there were dozens of restaurants, pubs etc. The AC was a bit too efficient some nights. Could be "cold and windy" Highly recommended !

The hotel is in a great location down a quiet street but near all the facilities for buses, trains, underground etc. rooms really comfortable. Always kept clean. Reception staff always very welcoming and happy to help. Could do with more English tv channels, but that's my only criticism.

My partner and I stayed here 2 nights to celebrate his birthday in Madrid. The hotel is in a great location just a minutes walk from Plaza sel Sol. The breakfast buffet is awful, sliced cheese and cold continental meats all on the same tray. Not very vegetarian friendly. The coffee is "fatal" to quote the Spanish. Best to avoid.... More

I spent 4 days in this hotel. The position is excellent in Madrid center. The room was at the 4th floor, modern and well equipped. The personnel were very kind. I recommend the hotel to family with young adolescent not babies or children. The area is full of night amusements, bar, restaurants and in the night there is a softly... More

The hotel has a great location. Puerta del Sol and metro station are just in few steps. All must sees are in walking distance. In the area there are a lot of tapas bars and restaurants. Double superior room is big enough. It is very clean and staff is helpful. There is no need to include breakfast in the price.... More

The Victoria4 is in a fantastic location, just a few metres from the Puerto del Sol, great for bars and restaurants. Our room was very spacious and clean. I had read that it was in a noisy location. Well perhaps we are late in going to bed, but our room was opposite a large Irish pub and yet we heard... More

Victoria IV is a good place to stay if you wish to be close to Puerto Del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the numerous small and narrow streets with tapas bars and restaurants. The rooms are adequate in size, clean and sound proof (when the windows are closed). There is quite much noise from the street with open windows. Breakfast also... More

Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Great location, great service and rooms are very spacious and nice. Will definitely go back. Right around the corner from main metro station and great shopping area. Lots of nice restaurants and bars close the hotel.

Hotel Victoria 4 is at Calle Victoria just two streets away from Puerta de Toledo. A very nice 3*** hotel. Rooms are nice, small regular TV (not LCD or something like that). You have actually all you need. I didn't eat breakfast so I can't tell. The staff is doing there job well. Overall you have to remember that you... More

It is the 3rd time that I stayed in that hotel but this time I had to pay over 90 Euros a night to stay there (without breakfast). In previous evaluations, I stated that one of the benefits of this hotel was the location and the quality price ratio... this year I Must say, that only the location was good.... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
