What do you expect at an Ibis? The room was clean and comfortable but a bit tired and dated. The breakfast is the worst selection I've seen at any hotel. Service a bit mixed although one of the receptionists was lovely and helpful. Location was ok.

The room was clean and the staff very helpful. Unfortunately the room is not soundproofed and it's quite noisy (especially if you have loud neighbours). The breakfast is basic and you don't have to many choices. Overall is ok but it would be nice to have more vegetables (it was only one tomato).

The Ibis Madrid Centro is located really close to the Bilbao Metro Station, which is great to move thrue the city. It only takes you 10/15 minutes walk tour to get to the Puerta del Sol, where most of "la movida" of Madrid happens. You have many restaurants, cafes and supermarkets in a walking distance if you need. The hotel... More

The property was lovely and in a great location of the city. The hotel, although small ('European-sized') was clean and updated. However because this was one of the more expensive Ibis hotels in Madrid I expected more with the fare. Upon arrival my family was told we needed an extra room due to Madrid laws that 3 adults could not... More

By being close to Bilbao station, the location of this hotel is perfect for accessing the city centre. it is also very easy to reach from the airport. The staff are very helpful, the rooms are a very good size and the air-conditioning was very good, exactly what was needed when daily temperatures were 40+. Next time i'm in Madrid,... More

The location is fantastic; the hotel is 150 m from "Bilbao" subway station. In fact, using the subway, one can travel from the airport to the hotel for less than EUR5.00 (July 2015). Plaza de Colon, where on can catch the "hop on, hop off" sightseeing bus, is 15 minutes walking. Even the Prado is an easy 30 minutes walk,... More

Very good hotel in the centre of Madrid. It is well located with Metro network (Bilbao station just few meters from the hotel), therfore it is pretty simple to get to any part of the city, including Madrid Barajas Airport. Other stations like Tribunal and San Bernardo are also very very close to the hotel and it is much closer... More

Love this hotel. It's a simple place in a fantastic location. Good restaurants, bars in the area and just a few blocks away from all the major streets and attractions in Madrid. They have helped us out with lost luggage, places to go, how to go get there and booking other trips for us. A special shout to Elena for... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
