I spent 4 peaceful and comfortable nights here as a first-time tourist in Madrid. The hotel is very close to a metro station but walking to the main landmarks is perfectly feasible. Although the public areas and rooms are functional rather than luxurious (as you would expect for the price), the staff provide an exceptionally friendly and helpful welcome which... More

The Ibis centro is well located, very close to Bilbao metro which takes you straight in the centre of the city (3 stops). It's also on the main line for Atoche & Chamartin train stations. Walking to Gran Via takes about 25 min. We found the hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. Most of them speak English & French too.... More

The Ibis is located one minute walk from Bilbao metro station, you can reach all touris parts of Madrid within minutes by metro. The hotel is comfortable and clean and the staff are excellent. Breakfast is available (about 7 Euros) which includes tea, coffee, cereals, croissants, bread, cold meat, fruit juice and toast. An evening meal is also available and... More

The hotel location is great, convenient walk to every intersting site. The rooms are more spacy than any urban Ibis I had stayed in before. But the jewel in the crown is the staff. What a friendly and pampering attitude!! The only downside is not with the hotel but with the Madrid's youth's behavior on weekends.

We stayed there for ten days. Hotel is located not far away from city center so you can go by foot to e.g. Plaza del Sol about 15-20 minutes. But closest neighbourhood (especially very nice Calle Fuencarral with many trees) is also full of shops, restaurants and so on. There is a Carrefour Express market 5 mins form hotel. The... More

A really good little Ibis in a side street 50m from the Metro station (Bilbao) & only a 20 minute walk to city centre. €3 Metro ticket to airport / 40 mins €30 by taxi The reception staff were so kind and helpful on every shift. Rooms the usual Ibis standard, clean, comfy bed and a good shower. (A little... More

Ibises can often be a bit dull, but this one has a funky lobby and a friendly young staff. My room was surprisingly large and well appointed. The bathroom didn't feel cramped at all. The buffet breakfast was copious. The hotel's location is very good, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, a metro station around the corner, and an... More

We stayed 3 nights in room 411 (if I remember well). Room itself is typical Ibis-style - comfortable bed, open wardrobe, shelves by the bed, mirror, flat-screen TV. I should add that during check-in we were told that this room is slightly bigger than the others. Bathroom was very nice and we found it larger than at other Ibis hotels... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
