It is a family house located in a perfect and central place. Offers all the facilities that you need (wc, kitchen, wasching machine, great wifi). But what I liked the most is the staff. Dora is a sweerheart and helped us with everything!

I really enjoyed staying here, even if it was for just one night. It's perfect if you are on a budget, because it costas like an hostel, but way more enjoyable if you are looking for rest and privacy. There's a well equipped kitchen, it's clean and perfect for long stays. It is so close to the centre yet it... More

Its good but kind of weird. At night the street is very empty. And the owner lives there with her daughter. The bathrooms are clean but reaaaally small. We own 2 keys, one to enter the building and another one to enter the "hostel", the door is very hard to open. We have our own space in the kitchen to... More

A warm welcome and clean rooms but the building was being renovated and consequently there was a lot of noise outside from around 8am. Shared kitchen, shower rooms and WC's. Free internet. Great central location and easy to get to by Metro from the airport.

We totally lucked out with this place, but would highly recommend it. It's about five minutes walk from the Plaza del Sol metro stop (confusingly called "Sol" on the maps) and in the very heart of Madrid. The owner, Dini, is super-nice and speaks some English and Italian as well. It is sort of like a B&B and a hostel... More

We stayed here for four nights in October. The feel was great, with the hostel only having about six rooms. It felt like a home stay and we felt welcomed by the hostess Great location - right near Plaza Mayor and a metro stop. The rooms had a wonderful antique charm about them. My only negative would be that as... More

We spent a nice night at Residencia Alvaro. The location is GREAT! You can see the Tirso de Molina metro stop from the front door, and its only about a 5 minute walk to Plaza Mayor. And its right behind a movie theater that shows films in their original language (a good place to see films in english!) The hostel... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
