I have to say that i understand that when you get 100 brainless travellers coming in and out everyday, it must be difficult to keep your cool. But when my little 'buzz-in' key didn't work in my room on the 2nd floor. I had to go back down stairs and ask for help (someone should have come with me in... More

This hostel is advertised as a party hostel and that's exactly what you get. There are events every day/night which you can participate in and get to meet loads of people. Staff: The ones I've met were very friendly and helpful. Rooms: At times they could be a bit stuffy and warm, but you could always ask the staff to... More

I had a nice experience in Cat's Hostel, they worth what they cost. Is true that the breakfast isnt the better (all too sweet), but i'm not in a hotel, so, that's fine. What i didnt like is the abusive tax to let your luggage in the locker. The checkout is 11h, and sometimes your flight or your train is... More

We were upgraded to a 4 person room for no charge because Hostelworld messed up our booking. The staff were super helpful about suggesting where to go in the city and we even hung with them in the bar in the AM for a nice morning coffee. Definitely worth a visit just to hang in the beautiful entranceway. The vibe... More

Plastic table wear. Poor breakfast. Too crowded. Very noisy. They don't allow you to bring alcohol. No bedsheets. The blanket is waaaay to tiny, only covers your feet. Bathroom cabins are so tiny! I cannot even fit my legs while sitting on the toilet!! Shower sink is very inconvenient. No kitchen. It has a lodge but no common area to... More

Close to Vodafone square this hostel is located at the centre. The staff in the hostel is good they even arranged for breakfast at 6.30-7 in the morning (since i had to catch a flight). The wash rooms are ok but a bit small for a person 6 feet tall. The free breakfast was ok it had cereals, cake, juice... More

Stayed for one night in transit. The location was great, and the hostel was pretty, but it was incredibly cramped and loud and they don't allow you to bring your own beer and wine into the hostel. I am a pretty small person and I felt like I barely fit into the bathrooms. Not really comfortable at all. And seriously,... More

Really good location near the metro system, attractions and the main square of Madrid. Provided a free walking tour that I really enjoyed as well as salsa lessons which were fun. Could be a bit noisy at times but it does class itself as a party hostel so that was to be expected.

This was my second stay in The Cats hostel, and was much better than the one before. As I arrived I had to ask for a room with locker, (I didnt find on website that there are rooms without them) but very nice receptionist made it work for both of us. I stayed in attic rooms on the second floor... More

We stayed in Cats Hostel for 3 Nights. The Hostel itself was nice, very very central and affordable. It has Pubcrawls & Walking Tours every day and a bar and other activities :) Only downside is, that the rooms are quite small and without windows (only entrance door and an AC, which is controlled by the hostel) When you are... Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
