This is, as advertised, a party hostel. Sleep quality / room: I stayed in a 4x male dorm. It was directly across from the male bathroom, so while I could hear some showers running and late-night revelry, for the most part the noise level was not bad. I got great sleep during my two nights here. The beds are neither... More

I loved it here. I stayed here for three nights, which is long enough that I usually tire of a hostel. But the riad-like hostel is gorgeous in its own right, close to pretty much everything you'd want in Madrid and has a two-story bar with cheap food and drinks. The WiFi is good, bathrooms were fine, and the beds... More

Great hostel however, if you want a quiet night with kind receptionists this is not the place to stay. However if you're keen to meet a lot of people and have a big night out in the town, cats hostel will be perfect.

In summary, this hostel is absolutely great and I would absolutely and definitely recommend it to any young traveller who does not mind a good party! Location: Perfect, very close (walking distance) to typical spots such as Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Also more or less inbetween two metro stops (Antón Martín and Tirso de Molina), ideal if you... More

Amazing Arabian decor! I just love it! Good location, confortable beds, and super friendly environment. It`s definitely a party hostel where you`ll have lots of fun. I´ve stayed there twice already and would love to visit again.

I have to say that i understand that when you get 100 brainless travellers coming in and out everyday, it must be difficult to keep your cool. But when my little 'buzz-in' key didn't work in my room on the 2nd floor. I had to go back down stairs and ask for help (someone should have come with me in... More

This hostel is advertised as a party hostel and that's exactly what you get. There are events every day/night which you can participate in and get to meet loads of people. Staff: The ones I've met were very friendly and helpful. Rooms: At times they could be a bit stuffy and warm, but you could always ask the staff to... More

I had a nice experience in Cat's Hostel, they worth what they cost. Is true that the breakfast isnt the better (all too sweet), but i'm not in a hotel, so, that's fine. What i didnt like is the abusive tax to let your luggage in the locker. The checkout is 11h, and sometimes your flight or your train is... More

We were upgraded to a 4 person room for no charge because Hostelworld messed up our booking. The staff were super helpful about suggesting where to go in the city and we even hung with them in the bar in the AM for a nice morning coffee. Definitely worth a visit just to hang in the beautiful entranceway. The vibe... More

Plastic table wear. Poor breakfast. Too crowded. Very noisy. They don't allow you to bring alcohol. No bedsheets. The blanket is waaaay to tiny, only covers your feet. Bathroom cabins are so tiny! I cannot even fit my legs while sitting on the toilet!! Shower sink is very inconvenient. No kitchen. It has a lodge but no common area to... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
