One of the great things about Madrid is that you can still find affordable nice little hostals in the center of things and Casa Chueca is a perfect example of this. I couldn't have been more pleased by the service, cleanliness, comfort, location -- and all for a fraction of a cost of what other major cities would charge for... More

Tucked away in the centrally located, gay friendly neighborhood of Chueca my wife and I found this quaint little hostel. The prices were on par with the other hostels we looked at in the area (€55) and the rooms were simple and clean with recently renovated bathrooms. The rooms are basic and not fancy but they are modern and clean,... More

the website looks nice, but the reality is far from what is offered. the rooms are not very nice and quite shabby. the walls have mold stains (luckily i changed rooms), the towels in the bathroom are not clean and probably used to be white decades ago. the owner/receptionist charged me the wrong amout on my credit card and then... it all looks very nice on the website, but this is a depressing nightmare. there is blackmail implicit when you book online, because qhen you get there you're obliged to stay for 2 nigths in a really crap, small and smelly room. the worse I have experienced (I organize turism groups).it costs around 60 euros nigth and it should cost... My comments are directed at Casa Chueca’s misleading and deceitful booking practices and poor customer service. I booked a room for 2 nights beginning October 26 on very short notice based on Casa Chueca’s website information. At no time was I informed that the building was under renovation. As I arrived in Madrid prior to the day of my stay,... More

Perfect location in the center of the throbing Chueca neighbourhood. Moments away from several Metro stations and Madrid main attractions. This enchanting little property should not to be mistaken for a youth hostel. This cozy little urban guesthouse consists of seven simple but clean and modern rooms with in suite bathrooms, although fairly small by American standards they are modern... More

I cannot say enough about how helpful the staff are here! They went well out of their way for us and made sure that we were comfortable and spoke amazing English (as most people we met did). This really isn't a hostel - or at least it didn't feel like it. My boyfriend and I were staying in a large... More

My partner and I stayed here during our visit to Madrid in April. Casa Chueca is a simple hostal with seven guest rooms, centrally located in the center of Chueca and easy walking distance to most major attractions in Madrid. It is only a couple of blocks from two metro stops (Chueca and Gran Via) and right in the middle... More

The Casa Chueca is a small quiet hostal w/ only 7 rooms with a a wonderful manager, Mario. I stayed for 5 nites in early Nov 2009. It is centrally located near the Chueca metro, in the gay area, very close to Gran Via. I could walk to all major tourist locations from the Casa Chueca. The rooms are various... More

Having spent six delightful days in Madrid in late September, I felt I must comment here on what it was that made our stay so special: it was the fabulous Casa Chueca which ensured that an enjoyable short stay became an unforgettable one, notably for its convenience (in the heart of the bustling Chueca neighbourhood, five minutes from Metro station),...
