This is a great little place with really friendly staff and a wonderful lounge/lobby. The location is central. When we went, the entire building was covered in scaffolding, which I understand will be the case until at least April 2016. Without it, I'm sure the views are beautiful.

Great value and fantastic location, right in the centre. Room and main area were nicely decorated in a funky modern design with all the facilities you would expect. Staff were extremely helpful. Awesome roof top terrace for getting the last of the sun. Only issue is that it is a little bit difficult to find when you first get there.... More

The hotel is located in the center of Gran Via. I was staying in the gran via corner room, the view is so great. The room is not too big, but u can still feel its spacious. It has rooftop so u can hangout while enjoying the city view. You can easily find the food in the area, and metro... More

Great location close to main shops and restaurants. Outside of hotel is getting refurb'd so book a (not street facing) no-window room for the time being, you won't be able to see the street anyway. Rooms were great, if a bit hot, I found myself turning off the air conditioning and opening the window and sleeping with a wet towel... More

We stayed here for two nights, the hotel is fantastic. I really like the metropolitan feel of it along with the location. It is very central, great access to the metro and walking distance to many attractions. Lots of great restaurants in the area as well! We had a room with street side view and it was awesome waking up... More

We stayed here for the second time as we like location very much. Staff is very friendly and nice, design is good. Cleaning before our check-in was not very good as I found black hair in the shower and towels. Big Apple's advertisement closes hotel's windows ((

We stayed 3 nights, city trip week-end. Great value trendy hotel with ideal location in the heart of Madrid. Situated on a busy walking street with many cafés and restaurants, very close to bus stops. At walking distance of many tourist sites. The street is crowded with locals, tourists, vendors … and prostitutes until very late at night ! But... More

The hotel has a dream location in heart city centre. A lovely design and a good price conviced me to book the hotel. We booked the corner room, and just for the view and the experience it is worth to put those extra euros. The room is standard in size, but the view is truly breathtaking and surprinsingly not noisy... More

Upon investigating the sewage smell coming from our bathroom we noticed there were black mushrooms in the ceiling air vent. I haven't seen anything like that before so I can't tell if they were mold, dirt, or what (take a look at the picture). The staff said they can't move us to another room because the hotel is full (which... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
