Stayed here one night. This place is in the smack of the city. Metro stations are 5 mins away. There are numerous restaurants & convenience stores within seconds. Rooms were a bit small, but hey who stays in the room all day when they are in Madrid. Bathrooms were small too buy no complaints. The only low side of this... More

Just stayed here last weekend, and it was excellent, and outstanding value for money. The rooms are simple and plain, but they're clean and of a nice size, and the beds are comfortable. I was a bit worried that with its tiled floor, the room might be a bit chilly (it was a very cold weekend), but the radiators were... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. It was supposed to be 3 nights however the reception and reservation staff do not speak English and there was a miscommunication which led to them putting me in a craptastic hotel next to them for my third night. The room was clean but very drab and dreary and my first room... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
