We (my wife, our 7-year-old daughter and I) went just before Easter for 3 nights in April 2014: it was about 30 degrees. So, we cannot comment on the heating. The main museums (Prado, Royal Museum of Fine Arts, etc.) are within 1 mile distance from the hotel. We just walked everywhere. Hotel is clean, room service is every day.... More

This place seriously needs to be renovated. There was no heat, the room looks old and crusty, the blankets were as old as it gets and the hallways were just creepy. You have to pay for wifi and the staff wasn't very friendly. No one spoke any English there it was hard to tell them my toilet seat was broken... More

What a dump, dirty, unclean, I doubt our room had seen a dusting for a month. The bed was gone, the sheets needed chucking away, generally one of the worst places I have ever stayed in. You could hear everything from the street so you couldn't get much sleep either. Expensive for what you get as well. the plus side... More

Stayed here for 2 months for a training. First sight gave me a feeling that its old and needs attention. But as I said since I was there for 2 months, may be I got used to it. I wouldnt say staff are rude. My experience was that some are rude and the rest are really friendly. For eg. Atleast... More

The location was great.. the staff was friendly but the hotel itself was a bit .. how do i say .. dodgy?.. they are basically apartments (studios) so that was nice but the rooms were a bit outdated and the linen was scary to sleep on . the bathroom had horrible water pressure .. for the cost its a good... It's an alright place to stay. It could be cleaner, and it looks very old (the room, the kitchen stuff, the elevators), but everything works as it should. Linens and towels get changed regularly, and the staff is helpful. The beds are not good, but "sleepable". The wireless internet is not very good at daytime, but it's just ok. It's... More

We stayed here twice--once for six nights on our arrival and for a one night stay on our departure. The first stay was comfortable as the hotel provided just what we requested (no smoking, double bed and private bath). Some nights were 50 and others 55 Euros, depending on the night of the week. The breakfasts (included) were simple but... More

Service was very poor, staff were rude. The curtains got caught in the window when it was opened, so the curatin was nearly ripped in trying to do so. When we asked for a hairdryer we were told 'NO'. I would not recmomend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed at the Andomeda for 6 nights in early May 2006. The hotel has a number of weak points but also has a number of strong points. the weak points include: poor curtains, and potentially unsafe cooking arrangements, as the electric stove is built into what would otherwise have been the drainer of the sink, and shabby tiled halls.... Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
