Our stay at Hostel Martin was extremely pleasant. The staff were helpful and friendly and the price for what you got was remarkable. After staying in many hostels that have cost more per night, this place was like a 3-4 ★ hotel! The bathroom was nice, the beds were comfy and the air-con was fully functional! This is a little... Stayed here for 5 days. Nice room, bathroon clean. Breakfast is held around the corner. I enjoyed the little rolls !!!!! By foot it is possible to visit many attractions. Turning right you are in Plaza del Sol and shopping area and direction for Plaza Mayor. Turning left you are on the track for Reina Sophia Museum, Prado Museum and... More

I am coming to the end of a three week European holiday and have stayed in many hotels/hostals over this period as you could imagine. Hands down Hostal Martin is the BEST one. From the initial checkin, the staff were pleasant and accommodating. The room..was well beyond our expectations. For 46 euro a night this should be classified as a... More

Small but adequate on suite rooms. Clean and tidy recently refurbished rooms with tea and coffee making facilities which I have found unusual for Spain. A 23 € taxi ride from the airport and less than a 1ml walk (uphill )from the railway station. A metro station is half way up the hill if walking is a problem. From the... More

Nice quiet and safe. Good location, courteous staff. The neighborhood can be a bit seedy in some areas. Homeless junkies and sex workers running in packs on some parts of Atocha. But they will leave you alone unless you try to mess with them. The hotel itself is very nice and a great value. I would recommend this to anyone... More

A clean, comfortable hostal at a reasonable price. Staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Centrally located for all museums and galleries, close to Metro (Anton Martin) and near Atocha Renfe for trips out of the City. Good basic breakfast - I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed there for 4 days and absolutely loved it. Good location with all the popular spots not too far off and staff was really helpful. Would book the same place if visiting again. A few English channels on TV would have been a welcome addition to non Spanish speaking guests.

The Hostal Martin is in a prime Madrid location, right on the Calle Atocha. Atocha Station is right down the street and the Plaza Mayor is right up the street, both very easy walks. The room was comfortable and be prepared for at least basic Spanish, as that is courteous and English is not widely spoken. The complementary breakfast was... More
