A room is a room is a room, but the staff and location were what made this place great. We stayed only one night for an extra long international layover, and it was just the refreshment we needed! Within quick walking distance to some great sight-seeing, and the neighborhood is lively and fun. I'd like to go back and spend... More

Stayed in the lusso for a short city break. It's clean friendly and in a excellent location. It's a 5 min walk to airport bus stop. My wife and myself spent 3 days in madrid and it was just so convenient. You can walk to all the sights from hotel exploring side streets, back streets as you go. The breakfast... More

We have been visiting Madrid for over 30 years and chose this place first time for us, for its location and a good price. The staff was exceptionally good - very professional and helpful. The hotel is well situated for walks to the old city - Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor and surroundings are 15-20 minutes away on foot.... More

Dear guest, Thank you very much for the description you have shared of our hotel. The hotel has a restaurant called Ex Libris with a very good reputation; it is one of the best options if you want to have a nice lunch or dinner in Chueca Area. All the rooms facing to the street are completely soundproofed, so the... More

A friendly little hotel close to Banco de Espana, so very centrally located, and only 20 mins from the airport on the cheap, regular airport bus. The street the hotel is on can get quite lively and noisy on week ends, but no worse than to be expected for a city centre hotel. Staff are really friendly and rooms simple,... More

Dear guest, Thank you very much for sharing your experience in our hotel with all the travelers. As you we think that the best option to get the hotel from the airport is the public bus “airport express”. It costs 5€ per person and it takes normally around 35-40 minutes. It leaves you in Cibeles Square which is 5 minute... More

We stayed at Lusso during the new years week. We chose the hotell for its good location and great tripadvisor reviews. We intentionally paid a little more, and expected to get a little more. There were a lot of good things, but overall experience was dissapointing. First the good. 1. The location is excellent. It's just of the Gran Via,... More

We found this charming hotel through a discount site and got lucky with the location just off Cibeles Plaza, midway between the museums and the Puerto del Sol, walking distance to everything we wanted to visit. It was in a quiet zone behind Gran Via, with a Starbucks kitty corner across the street. Took the airport express late at night... More

Pros: - Great, central location that's pretty quiet considering it's just off Gran Via - Lots of good eateries nearby, and a Starbucks right across the street - Professional and competent staff - Good selection of toiletries in a modern bathroom - Heavy curtains - Strong (free) wifi Cons: - Doesn't seem to be a fan in the bathroom, so... Dear guest, Thank you very much for the nice remark you have wrote about the hotel, we appreciate it. We take note about the fan in the bathroom and especially the lights in the room I suppose that this last issue is easier to correct it. Best regards David Cachavera More

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
