We stayed here for one night as we were attending an event at the Barclaycard centre (which is literally 5 minutes walk away from the hotel). It was easy to get to from the airport - the airport bus drops you off nearby and its easy to find. We literally only slept here so I can't comment on the food... More

Over in Madrid on business, company took care of the booking. I am always apprehensive about this because of their tendency to go 'economy'. This place was such a pleasant surprise. I was initially put off by the size, the place is enormous (number of rooms), however it is the opposite of impersonal and busy. The staff simply could not... More

Excellent location for concerts at the Barcalycard centre- literally a 5 minute walk if that. Also within 5 minutes from O'Connell metro station. Clean and comfortable hotel with good Wifi. All the sights and centre of Madrid can be reached on foot from here (quite a walk) or by the frequent buses/metro. Would definitely stay here again

Relatively close to center and affordable. Has a paying (and quite expensive) car park access. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but way too outdated for a 4 stars. Nearby restaurants and convenience stores.

The staff at this hotel are extremely kind and helpful and the Airport Bus stops about five minutes walk away. Ideally situated for shopping but a fair distance from the centre of Madrid. Tickets are available from the Hotel reception for the open top tourist bus but again it is quite a walk to the nearest stop and probably easier... More

We stayed in this hotel 2 nights for the Asics Medio Maraton end of March. The hotel is ok, clean and room+bathroom are really big. But we had just a small window that we could not open and no clim at all so it was a little bit suffocating during the night... Too bad we had two very hard beds... More

Have just come back from Madrid where my daughter and I stayed in the Hotel Convención. We were attending a concert in Barclaycard Centre so the location was perfect (literally less than 5 mins walking distance from the hotel). The hotel is very well located as there are 2 metro stations nearby - we took the line 2 from Goya... More

stayed 2 nights in this hotel, we didn't pay for breakfast. The hotel is in a good location, very close to the metro. The lobby is very large and excellent to sit and relax. The hotel is close to the Retiro park and the Salamanca district. It feels like an old builiding that has had a refurbish. The buffet breakfast is pretty good though could use a bit of variety (it was 95% the same on my 7 night stay there). The staff is nice and polite, but the room cleaning staff could be... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
