Great position to explore the city and hotel is nicely done and very modern/boutique. Rooms are big and recommend room with a terrace and hot tub-worth the extra - good way to unwind after a day exploring Madrid. Have now stayed twice here and would go back again.

we stayed here in march for 4 nights. We had a lovely room at the back of the hotel. It was one of the larger rooms and was very comfortable. Breakfast was not extensive but what was available was absolutely delicious. Great location within easy walking distance of all the main areas of Madrid

Great location - 15-20 minute walk to Prado Museum, 20 minutes to the Mercado San Miguel, just across the Gran Via begins a lovely neighborhood with some nice restaurants and wine bars. The elevators work well (as opposed to some others in Europe that are tiny and slow). I loved the breakfast buffet - fruits, cheeses, breads, cured meats, etc.... More

Were there for 4 nights recently. Excellent hotel, very well located, confortable with excellent reception service and generous full breakfasts. The reception attendants were considerate and courteous and eager to respond to all our inquiries about places to visit, restaurants suggestions etc... Special thanks goes to Xavi and Jose in that respect.

When I first walked into the hotel, I was a bit worried. What...no lobby? This was certainly my first. There was a front desk that looked more like a ticket counter, and that was it. Straight into the elevators. But when I got into the room, all my worries just faded away. It was REALLY spacious, with a lovely terrace.... More

My partner and I stayed in this hotel for a long weekend and had a wonderful experience. The location was ideal; the staff were extremely helpful and had impeccable language skills (fluent in English etc); and in general the room and facilities in the hotel were great. Would recommend it to anyone staying in Madrid.

This hotel is very well situated for visiting the 3 great Madrid art galleries. We had a nice large room at the back of the hotel with a balcony. All the staff were friendly and spoke good English. Also it is reasonably priced. We would stay here again.

Love this hotel. Returned having stayed here once before a few years ago. Great central location on Gran Via close to shops, bars, restaurants and the main tourist attractions. Decor is quirky and model, but set inside a beautiful old building. Comfortable bed, great shower, balcony and free WiFi were plus points. Very few English TV channels and noise of... More

This grand old hotel has been completely modernised. The room was spacious, modern clean and comfortable. Situated in a very central location for seeing the sights of Madrid. Staff were always cheerful and helpful. They even went out of their way when I accidentally left my wallet in the back of a taxi. Breakfast was a good selection of delicious... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
