We stayed at Hostal La Nava for 1 night whilst attending a concert at the Barclaycard Centre (Palacios de Deportes) - a 5 minute walk away. There were 7 of us and we had booked 6 single rooms and 1 twin. All the single rooms actually had either 2 beds or a double. The rooms are basic but clean and... More

It's less than 300 m. from Metro stop Manuel Becerra ( Line 2 and 6) on Calle de Alcala, downhill to city center in case you want to walk it to see what's around. A Corte Ingles is very near, and there's also a smaller supermarket opened untill 2 in the morning. And obviously the usual Cervecerias, restaurants and bars.... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
