We've just returned from a three-night break in Madrid, staying at the Santa Ana apartments, the location of which was perfect for exploring the city. We were in one of the apartments towards the back of the building, which was a relief given the comments we'd read about the noise from the bars mentioned in other reviews: our apartment was... The location was very central. We didn't need to use buses or the Metro and were within walking distance of everywhere. We got a pleasant welcome at the building on Sunday afternoon and were given a map of central Madrid with all the information we could have wanted on our first trip to Madrid. We asked for and got a... More

Stayed in March with 3 other adults. Apartment was perfectly located with a 5 min walk to Sol square. Clean and modern. local spa outside the main door. Plaza Ana also on the door step. Be aware that apartment does not have 4 single beds but 2 doubles. Reception very helpful with local information. Would stay again

Excellent location, at the heart of the city. A lot of tabernas and shopping alternatives in the district. Furniture and design is simple, not very charming. Our appt had daylight, but some does not. There is a bar in font of the building, noisy one until 3 am. It was ok for us since we were so tired, we were... More

Location of the apartments is great because almost all the sights can be explored by foot. Also nearby are restaurants and shops and markets for all needs... Is clear and furnished well. Could have a little better mattresses, internet connection and inventory in the kitchen. Staff is friendly and helpful, especially Tanja

Just home from a wonderful few days in Madrid. We may not have had the weather - believe it was the worst lightening storm in Madrid for 100 years that saw our flight diverted to Valencia - but Spain Select staff were incredibly accommodating and professional and didn't let us down. Our flight was meant to land at 2205 but... More

These apartments could not be in a better location ,everything is on the doorstep. The Prado, The Royal Palace, all the main attractions. There are also so many places to eat and drink all around you are spoiled for choice. The apartments themselves are very well appointed, clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and help full. I would recommend them anytime.

The location is perfect for exploring Madrid. We had 2 rooms and found both to be clean and comfortable. The manager was more than helpful and everything about our stay was just great. I'd suggest the one bedroom apartment for a group of 2 or 3.

My family of four (two teenagers) stayed in the two bedroom apartment for three nights. The location was fine for walking all over Madrid, manager of the building was helpful, and the free wifi worked well. We had the apartment facing the street which was lovely during the day but unbearable loud all night long. I think people stopped screaming... More

I went with my friend only for few days trip, the location is great. The studio was quite big: nice kitchen, table, sofa, double bed and the bathroom. Although the view wasn't nice, we didn't really care as we only slept there and spent the rest of the day visiting the city. The girls at the reception where nice and... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
