The room was large and pleasant but even on the 7th floor noise from the AC and the external traffic was an issue - I am a light sleeper. I asked for an ironing board and iron and it took forever to deliver and the staff were not very helpful

Excelent location, very good breakfast, great election if you come to Madrid. The Salamanca quarter is the place to go for shopping, restaurants. It is a safe quarter and well communicated with the area of Museums, Prado, etc. Also you have the Retiro park very near to go for a walk. Reserve through the web of the hotel and you will... More

The hotel is a grand old hotel that is not kept up to standards. Great breakfast buffet, good cleaning staff and great front desk service, specially Javier who goes out of his way to please and serve. The bar is cozy, friendly and serves the best Gin Tonics in Madrid!!! A great place to meet friends. Location is great for... More

The only thing going for this hotel is the location. I have traveled all over and never in my life I have experienced a costumer service like the one here TERRIBLE! The staff was not willing to help you. We needed more amenities (towels, shampoo, etc) and they questioned why we needed so many. The front desk staff was RUDE... More

good hotel in a good place in the center of Salamanca district but the rooms and bathrooms need a big performance. The staff is very kindly and you are same at home but the hotel has become old and all need a new look.

It's a pity... A great Gran Hotel, nice service, good rooms, definately worth a high ranking at TripAdvisor except for this Internet...the Internet seems as old as the hotel. It's below standard and nowaday's not acceptable anymore. Why does Hotel management ignore this customer requirement?

Dear Customer. We welcome your comments, your stay in our hotel coincided with a change to fiber optic cabling throughout the area, we also suffer the consequences and so please accept our apologies. We will be happy to assist in future occasions. Best regards More

The attention is very good, wonderful food, in the best neighborhood of Madrid. Full of shopping stores and good restaurants. Metro is very close and there is a taxi in the hotel doors all the time. The suites are very affordable.

Great location to take a walk around the city if you are in good condition and ready to do some citytrekking. Hotel is located in expensive Salamanca area, but if you like shop, you will find all price categories also from here. Room was spacious and clean and breakfast was ok. I had room with windows with no view and... More

Location is excellent in a high standard neighborhood with top brands shops and all kind of restaurants and bars. Close to Subway with connections to all parts of Madrid, however is nice to walk on Velazquez Street to the Retiro Park , with its Crystal Palace, Prado and Thyssen Museums nearby, or walk down Calle de Alcalá into Gran Vía,... Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
