It´s a really nice place, located just in the heart of Madrid.. The staff is amazing! Really nice and helpful.. Everything was clean! Only thing i didn´t like was the breakfast - i just expected bit more than toast bread, jam, cereals (+tea and coffee). However they give you free sangria EVERY NIGHT + there´s pub crawl, that was just... More

La Posada de Huertas is the hostel I stayed this January. The reviews already were very good and since the location was perfect I decided to stay here whilst looking for a room to stay for half a year. The staff is very friendly and helpful and speaks many languages. Accomodations are clean and good and you have a large... More

This was one of my favourite hostels while travelling around Europe. The staff were friendly and helpful, we even got upgraded to a better room upon arrival. They offered free paella and sangria in the evenings, and this was a great way to meet new people. There was a bar crawl organised with a few other closely located hostels, and... More

The staff there were extremely nice! They gave us good advices. Free sangria every night and free paella on Saturdays. It's a good ol ego meet people from everywhere! Had a great time here. I I'll definitely come back. Such a pity that they're booked up during my following trip back to Madrid.

good location, perfect for night life, but it is impossible to sleep, there are no rules and everyone doing what they want at day time but especially at night, if you want to sleep is better to look for another youth hostel, wifi does not work unless if you go to the reception the shower modestly clean but it is... The hostel is located close to several key landmarks. Amenties are nice..especially the kitchen where you can cook. There are pub crawls starting from the hostel. We also got a walking tour by viviana which was very good.

Its a nice place with a very good location. Our room has a bathroom, but the water in the shower was too cold to take a bath there. The wi-fi only works in the reception area. The rest was OK. Very nice place for the money!!

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
