The hostel is very clean and well organised. The breakfast is simple (toasts with butter&jam or cornflakes), but enough. The rooms are quite spacious and the beds are comfy. A recommendable and rather cheap place for a few days in Madrid ;)

After an initial hard time finding the place (I think diretions could have been more detailed), I found that the location was excellent for getting to Plaza Mayor, Chueca, and the Prado. The small streets are full of cosy restaurants and clubs and quirky shops. Staff were helpful and friendly and I found that the access to luggage storage, washing... More

Bedrooms are very small for all the beds they fit in them. Wi-fi is free but only works in the reception. The location is great, breakfast is basic and the staff are super friendly and helpful. No towels provided.

Nice ambience, great attention, a bit noisy but i mean, it's obviously a youth hostel ;) loved it! Met really cool people in there and they share their experiencie with all travelers, it's only a matter of opening yourself

Was clean, great located and with many extras: Internet, private lockers in rooms, lockers before check in and after check out, secure, kitchen with fridge, breakfast included for cheap rate and a tour (in english) based on donation, if wanted . Only cold water at 3rd floor if hostel´s complete. (I had to shower at 2nd)

The hostel includes many extras in their low price including Internet (although not the best coverage area but it's free so I can't complain), computers, communal kitchen, hot showers with decent pressure, clean toilets, a cup of sangria every night which is very good for meeting people in their central terrace and a tour every morning. The tour is very... More

Excellent location in Huertas St. by the Anton Martin Metro Sta. Affordable place to stay, expect a basic room with just a bed and a locker. Very clean, excellent and friendly customer service 24/7. Enjoy the Pub Crawl and the delicious paella tasting! I will recommend this place to my friends.

the pricing was very good for what you get; inexpensive but nice. they put on so many free services, such as a walking tour and paellas, which is a phenomenal bonus to staying here. the pub crawl is a must for trying, since madrid is such a party city, you have to experience night life at least once. the location... The location of this hostel is amazing ! It's located in the heart of madrid, within walking distance to most of the city's attractions, museums, plazas, and royal buildings. There are countless restaurants minutes away so no need to look far for food. The hostel is sitting right on one of the main streets for bars and nightclubs; there are... More

La Posada de Huertas has this very familiar college vibe to it. Everyone's very friendly. Don't expect a babysitter for you and you'll be happy. You're bound to meet really interesting people. Located right at the centre, it lets you get wherever you want, quickly. The bathrooms were clean and the beds, tidy. It's a modest living, but then again,... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
