Perfectly located, clean, comfortable, caters for families where most city hotels do not, we had a set of bunk beds in the room which was ideal for our 15 & 10 year olds. Ok it needs some work here and there but if you you want somewhere clean, central and reasonable priced this is your hotel.

Very well located with a lot of places to visit around and a lot of stores to do some shopping. The Wi-Fi works perfect. Difficult to understand the best way to park the car... which have a lot of limitations...

The hotel seems to have been recently refurbished and is nicely done. The rooms were small but clean, beds comfortable, staff helpful and even spoke English. Breakfast was fresh, hot and tasty. The hotel is in a great location with a lot of activity right out your door. The only downfall is that there is only one elevator so if... More

The only positive point is the location. First of all the staff was extremely rude and impolite. They only speak Spanish and don't know how to deal with problems. On the first day when I asked for a city map and some information about the city, the guy on the front desk suggest me to go to the Tourist Center... More

Very nice and convenient hotel. Unbeatable location (right in the center between Puerto Del Sol and Opera, friendly and very helpful front desk / staff, rather small but cozy rooms and excellent breakfast made our stay very enjoyable. Will return again!

Being in the beating heart of Madrid, the location of this hotel couldn't be better. Our room was clean and the staff was friendly. Our room was a tad too small though and with a bathroom that couldn't be closed off perfectly, this wasn't always convenient. Wifi was working slowly and additional services were considerably pricy.

The hotel is in a excellent location and the room was well decorated and recently revamped with plenty of space. The Staff were excellent and extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations etc. which turned out to be spot on. We really enjoyed our stay.

The location is just perfect! Lot of attractions are close by and the train station is just 5 minutes away. Staff are helpful. We stayed in the family room which was quite nice and 2 facilities were a television and a safe. Elevator is a bit slow, prefer the stairs. In overall, it's a great place

Stayed here as had problems with another hotel, so straight off we were impressed they were accommodating to get us in our room ASAP! Fabulous location, near the shops and cafes and restaurants! Little walk from some of the sights but nothing that is too far! Would definitely stay there again when we come back!!

Location is great. Staff is friendly and helpful. Check in process is a long one. Too long for me. Elevator is a lame duck. Ask for a room on the first floor and just walk the stairs. All around it was a good deal for 116 a night including taxes - really I wouldn't pay much more than that.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
