Central, clean, nice, positive! Madrid in "Las Fuentes"? Everytime again! We are waiting for the next visit! ... Only some minutes walk to "Opera" Metro station, to "Chocolateria St. Denis" (mmmmmmmm), to vegetarian restaurants, Puerta del Sol...! Perfect! ... Very satisfied!!!

I stayed in the single room and indeed as the other reviews have stated, the rooms are tiny - there was not much space other than a bed and a small bedside table. But this wasn't a problem for me because I spent most of my days outside and only used the hotel for sleeping. The bathrooms are quite spacious... More

Thank you very much for your comment, for future bookings remind you that at the time of booking both via internet and via telephone we specify the type of room you want because if the booking is for one person and booking single room is obviously more small as it is prepared for one person. Thanks and regards More

There are two Las Fuentes so be careful when booking. This hostal is much better. the rooms are clean, the location is great and the service is very good. The staff speak English and it was easy to communicate. My room was very small but I had my own bathroom that was bigger than expected. All in all, I had... More

Perfect location! The triple room was very comfortable and the bathroom was super clean. It have a 1 person elevator, super tiny but a most for those people that have problems with the stairs. Walking distance to Royal Palace and La Gran Via. It was our first night hotel room from a 2 weeks trip and we love it!

Nice hotel which is so well located, close to Opera place. I really appreciated either the style of this hotel or the cleanliness. I should admit that the single bed room is sooo tiny that I haven't had any table to work on. I have had to work on the bed with my computer, which was very uncomfortable. Tv didn't... More

Dear Customer, we regret the problems he had with light and tv. if he had warned in our maintenance staff reception he had repaired as soon as possible and in the case of not being able to repair when he had been made a room change. One single bed in a very small room. Was ok as I didn't need to be in the room long. If you want all modern comforts then not the place to stay. Staff were very good. Breakfast is down the road and across the way. Not a fantastic choice and not ideal if the weather not kind. The location however... More

Just a bed in a room, but it's in a great location near the Madrid Opera. Fun color LED lights add some ambiance to an otherwise plain, boring room. You wouldn't want to hang out there, but for a bed in the heart of Madrid, it delivers. One gripe would be that you can hear a lot of noise from... More

the place is really central . there is no doubt . they are really organized and there is always someone in the reception ( which is not obvious ) , I payed 60 euros per night in the end of the month september, the rooms are extremely small and i will even call them claustrophobic. it was the perfect location, right in the center of Madrid. It has the cutest rooms and good sized rooms. the lift is small but is good enough. The receptionists are helpful, they helped us whenever we needed directions.

Location of this Hostal is brilliant just on the centre next to the metro Opera, shops, Opera etc. Staff was very friendly. The room with own bathroom was clean, a bit small but was cosy. From the airport it takes 40-45 min on metro to Opera station just for €5. From the hostel we walked everywhere, to the muzeum Prado,... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
