The hotel is located within 2 minutes to Plaza Mayor and 5 to 20 minutes to any site location. The staff was very helpful and very nice. Rooms are clean and well kept. In short I will stay here again and would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Within walking distance of all major spots for Madrid this hotel is a perfect base to explore the city. Air conditioning, free wifi and within 1 minute walk of Plaza Mayor,... More

Enjoyed our stay at this small no frills hotel. The service was good and staff pleasant. The location is the strongest asset. We rented the penthouse unit, roomy but a bit hot and somewhat smelly because it is situated in the attic. The terrace was a nice feature. all in all a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

I traveled alone and asked for a single room. I got a room on the 5th floor in the back of the hotel which helped alleviate any street noise, I had no view but I did have a window to let fresh air in. Room was clean, well organized, bed was decent, shower comfortable (I'm a big boy), air conditioner... More

This hotel is located a short block off of the large Plaza Mayor, so the location is excellent. Puerta de Sol one of the other major plazas in Madrid is about 7 minute walk from this hotel. The breakfast, although served in a small area, is excellent. If you make your reservation directly with the hotel via phone or e-mail... More

Great relaxed, clean and comfortable stay. Good value restaurant with wine pairings! Very helpful desk staff and close to all in area sights. A stones throw from Elephants Walk the famous tapas wallk in the region.

For the price the hotel is a great deal. Small rooms, beds not great but modern, clean bathroom. Wi-Fi worked well and didn't have any issues with noise from the street. The best feature of the hotel is the location, its within walking distance of all attractions, bars and restaurants. Would definitely recommend to people planning to explore Madrid and... More

This is a modest, older hotel just a few yards from the Plaza Major and close to two subway stations. Nice staff and very clean. Walking distance to the Prado, Plaza del Sol, etc. Light food availability and breakfast is not included. Wifi and computer station.

We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights. We have stayed at Eurostars hotels in Barcelona and Porto on our holiday this year. It is in a fairly good spot, close to the Vodafone Sol metro station and not too far from the Plaza Mayor and a tourist restaurant area in Madrid. The room was clean and tidy, the staff... More

Hotel location is perfect, near tapas restaurants and the metro at Sol. Were on fifth floor, booking said balcony, but it was big windows only. Receptionist not bothered when we asked about it, said our booking was wrong. Room clean and spacious, but no fridge. Bathroom towels needed replacing. Service poor and without warmth. Checkout at 12, we returned to... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
