If you want to stay in the city this is the place. It's in the middle of everything but quite and safe inside the hotel. Your are near plentiful tapas and restaurants of Madrid. The hotel offers guests a central place to explore the city.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel eight years ago so when we planned to come back to Madrid we booked the Hotel Plaza Mayor again. We have no regrets because it is a great hotel! You cannot beat the location. Rooms are nice and the service is great. You can have a buffet breakfast or just eat or... More

We just returned from Madrid, our stay at hotel Plaza Mayor was great. We loved Room 503 with nice big windows facing a small plaza and one block away from Plaza Mayor. The breezes in the room (5th floor) were priceless and so is the location. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Very clean, excellent value and can't... More

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in May. The location was as advertised, just steps from Plaza Mayor. The central location was good for walking to many sites of interest in the city, and the metro was nearby, which made for easy arrival from the airport and easy access to the train stations. My single room was small... More

We spent a week here in May. We had a bright corner room. Bathroom was tight but bright and clean and did the job. Not luxurious but clean and so convenient for the main Madrid sight. Breakfast an optional extra quite good but could do with more regular replenishment. For a capital city the price was reasonable and staff were... More

Everyone one here is super helpful and always smiling. Our room was small, simple and clean. Loved that we had an in-room safe. We had an interior room with a window to a small - inaccessible courtyard. The in-room internet access worked great! The location is perfect, right next to the Plaza Mayor and within walking distance to most attractions,... More

we stayed for two night in early june. we had two rooms, a double and a triple. everything was clean. we booked the most basic rooms so they were small and the triple was a bit tight. but a solid choice for a lower budget stay.

We stayed here for three nights. The rooms are small, of course, but perfectly clean and adequate. We had a "superior" room with two twin beds and a tiny balcony. It had three windows. The location's ideal: a few blocks from the metro, a few steps from Plaza Mayor, and walking distance from all the great restaurants we enjoyed. You... More

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in August 2013, peak season and only AU$110 per night. A Hostal rather than a Hotel but good value for money. On arrival (in our hire car) I pulled up outside to unload the luggage but due to being located next to a government was quickly moved on by a Guarda Civil,... More

OK this is a good two star hotel at a good price, so the rooms are not 5 star, but adequate and clean, staff friendly and helpful. Great location etc etc BUT...yet again a hotel in Spain that advertises air conditioning but takes the decision on my behalf that it is not required until the end of May... If that... More
