Hotel with a great location, and nice rates. Our room was like a studio, with 2 stores, very cool. The breakfast is complete but simple. Higly Recomended. The hotel is close to train stations and night life. The avenue has great shoppings and stores.

There s nothing special about this hotel apart from its location ( just across the metro and around dominoz pizza and burger king and walking distance from the main city centre area ) , apart from that the room and facility were old ( i heared they renovated them now but not sure ) - visited sep 2011

We had trouble with cancelled flights from the US and our 2 week vacation is Spain was off to an awful start. However, the Petit Palace was more than accommodating by refunding our first night stay and then, letting us check in at 8a the next day when we finally did arrive. It was a wonderful and unexpected gesture that... More

This hotel is just in the middle of all the action, near the subway, near restaurants and stores and certainly within walking distance of all historical places of Madrid. The location of the hotel (just off Calle Gran Vía) is amazing. You can walk to anywhere central very quickly and easily. The room was small but very clean, with nice hotel-branded toiletries, a mini-bar and room-service menu that made us feel like we were staying somewhere more expensive than 46 euros for a night! The hotel is great value... More

We stayed 3 nights in downtown Madrid at the Hotel Petit Palace Cliper Gran Via. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Puerte del Sol. It is on a street perpendicular to the Gran Via and was fairly quiet. The room is fairly modern and small and the bathroom had a shower, sink and toilet. Our nightly rate... More

I liked everything: the room was very good, the service very hepful and breakfast was what I expected. Its situation makes it easy for us to visit the whole Madrid, including the most famous museums. To go shopping, we couldn't have found nothing better. I am sorry I didn't visit the hotel swimming pool.

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
