I spent three nights on a business trip in this hotel. The room was o.k., clean and nothing special. As usual in Madrid there was no real heating in the room, but you can turn on the aircon to make hot air. The location of the hotel is really good, the historical centre is only at a few minutes walking... More

Hotel Ganivet is located in a great part of Madrid. We didn't really need to get the metro at all as it's only a 10 minute walk from the centre of the city. The rooms were comfortable and clean with TV, Wifi access and a safe. The hotel bar was reasonably priced and the waiters gave complimentary tapas with drinks.... More

Great hotel, staff friendly, rooms clean, bed comfortable, good selection of food for breakfast - everything you could ask for for a good comfortable stay. Also very reasonable room prices, although we stayed in February so possibly cheaper time of year. Best advantage to this hotel is the location. A few minutes walk from the metro, so easily reached from... More

Myself, husband and 12 year old son stayed here for 3 nights! We caught the metro from the airport really straightforward and then it was a 2 min walk from the metro to the hotel. Check in really quick and simple. Rooms were basic but very clean and comfortable! Had a bath with a shower over and the beds were... More

First of all i would like to say thanks to the hotel staff for being so nice, they were happy to help me (someone who had lots of questions). The room was of good size and great quality. Everything is in walking distance, and the things that aren't can be easily reached at the nearby Puerta de Toledo metro station.... More

I stayed here for two nights last January. I love its location. I can walk to most of the tourist spots, and it's close to plenty of restaurants. There's a safe in the room I can use which is really good. There's a bakery and a kebab place nearby for cheap eats. It's easily reachable from the airport via the... More

Nice location to go to "La Latina" area. close to the Metro. Friendly staff @ the Bar. Fro there you can walk to the gran via and plazxa mayor. Avoid the rooms on the ground floor, despite being quite new, the floor is tile and no carpet, so it gets quite cold at night. The ac is noisy.

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
