Skip the 10 Euro buffet and head to the bar for a much cheaper breakfast. Modern design inside. Roomy rooms with flat screen TVs. Some staff super helpful, others not so much, but not to the point where problems were created. Cheap internet in the lobby computers. Nice walk to Calle Brava, which has all of Madrid's hottest and most... more

We arriived at 9 AM and we got our room right away. The service was fast and efficient, so we were thrilled. They gave us a room with 4 beds and we booked for 3 , so it was a comfortable room. We walked everywhere and buses and metro were minutes away. It is great value for the price you... more

The hotel is a great value for money. It is in a walking distance to all attractions. Two metro stations are just a few minutes walk away. The rooms are really nice. The staff is very helpful. Well recommended for short city breaks. more

Ganivet is located near the Puerta de Toledo metro stop. It is within walking distance of Corral de la Moreria--a great place for flamenco shows. The rooms are new, beds are comfortable, service is nice. There is free wifi in the hotel rooms. Overall, it was a great value for the money. The only hitch was our tour to Toledo.... more

Booked this hotel based on reviews on this site and were not disappointed. We loved the location - very central and very buzzy in the evenings. The rooms were clean and totally adequate for a long weekend break. The breakfast buffet was also good. We had a room at the back and, together with the blackout blinds, had no problems... more

We booked the Ganivet having cancelled a booking elsewhere in Madrid after reading very bad reviews of the hotel we had previously chosen. The reception staff are friendly and speak sufficient English to assist. We were not disappointed. It is a new hotel so bathrooms clean and well appointed. Shower and hot water both good. Rooms are small- about the... more

The only reason I stayed at the Ganivet Hotel was that it offers an incredible value. I was able to get a spacious room for only 60 euros (tax included), and this was during the first week of June. The furnishings were very basic, but there was a small flat-screen TV and a mini-bar. The bathroom was clean and had... more

At very low rates (60 to 80 E each night), it's a GREAT deal. Very well located 2 blocks away from the Metro, 4 blocks away from Plaza Mayor). Very good room and bathroom. Don't miss the buffet breakfast! For an extra 10E you'll get the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Don't miss this hotel. more

Hotel Ganivet was a functional hotel, well placed to see the sights of Madrid. It has a cafe area which we found to be most convienient but the hotel itself is a little characterless. Fine for a couple of days sightseeing. more
