The location was excellent. The service was not so good because I should ask for cleaning service, the receptionists (some of them) didn't speak English and none was checking the mini bar for refill. The breakfast was good although they were not putting fresh cakes for several days. If you stay there do not get a room in the front... more

We were looking for a central, clean central and cheap hotel in Madrid and this chained fitted the bill. It is built into an old town-house and has plenty of bars around it for breakfast. You can't go wrong if you are just looking for somewhere to crash. Only thing I'd say against it is the pillows, not enough. But... more

The Petit Palace Ducal is located just off one of Madrid's main roads, the Gran Via, so is a great base from which you can see the rest of the city. . I stayed in a room for 4 which was actually nicely decorated (most rooms made for 4, I have found, tend to be quite hostelly-looking in my experience).... more

Spent one night at this hotel between travels recently. The location is excellent - right across from an underground stop and just off the Gran Via (shops, restaurants etc.). It's also in the heart of the (gay friendly) Chueca area, so is ideal for bars etc. later on. The room was clean and modern, if a bit on the small-ish... more

The rooms seem to vary, I have stayed here twice or three times, and each time they have given me a room overlooking the street, which has a pretty view but is noisier. Generally for the price and excellent location, this is a very good place to stay; all the staff this time were friendly and helpful. more

Stayed for 6 nights. Double room was very small, with no view. Room was reasonably quiet (as it was away from the street) but heard noises from next room's squeaky floor and shower room. Also heard running water from the pipe box in the room. Opaque glass screen/door between bedroom and shower room had a small clear panel enabling view... more

The hotel overall was fine with rooms average size, big window going on a balcony door therefore with a little charming balcony overlooking the Gran Via. The view outside was actually real nice, opposite offices but in an old buildings. The room was always clean, staff always helpful (however some spoke little English), breakfast was full enough to keep you... more

Nice clean modern hotel with superb location, right off Gran Via, in Chueca. The staff was great, the price was good, and the internet's free too. The place, however, has some odd design flaws they really should work on. First, the glass wall separating the bathroom is absurd. It's mostly opaque, but there's a square of clear glass positioned perfectly... more

I stayed in the Petit Palace Ducal with a group of students in February 2006. It is a beautiful hotel and is right near the Gran Via. However, the strangest thing was that the bathroom walls are opaque glass and the door is partly clear glass so that you can see right into the bathroom. I have never seen anything... more
