Great location as took us 4 minutes to walk from the station to hotel Friendly staff on reception , free wifi , big room with fridge and safe and close to tourist attractions Room a little noisy as had a very chatty loud neighbour so soundproofing wasn't great but would stay there again no problem Clean and reasonably priced

Hotel Mediodia is a very good hotel for a Madrid sightseeing trip. It is located just across the road from the Atocha Renfe train station. The Atocha metro station is less than a minutes walk so it is very accesable to public transport. It is also within walking distance of the main tourist attractions: Reina Sofia is literally around the... More

This hotel exceeded my expectations, it was of a very good standard for a 2* hotel. Rooms kept very clean and are spacious for multi bedded rooms. Breakfast was perfectly fine for a continental offering. Brilliant location situated opposite the Atocha station and very close to the Prado museum. I would recommend to anyone wanting a reasonably price base for... More

This is an older property but is very comfortable. Rooms clean and well appointed. Marble flooring makes for some problems with noise but the price is definitely right and compensates for any minor problems. Breakfast in house too expensive for continental meal @ 8 euros 80 per person.

Our family of 3 stayed at Hotel Mediodia at the beginning (June 30th- July 2nd) and end (Aug 3rd- 6th) of our European holidays. Each time the triple- room we had was in a different area of the hotel and each time we felt like Hotel Mediodia offered clean, well supplied accommodations. The staff at the hotel were always very... More

Our EF group stayed here for 2 nights. The location was great - across from Atocha train station, waling distance to major plazas, the Reina Sophia museum, the Prado, the Real garden Botanico, the Parque de el Retiro, restaurants and shops. Rooms are typically small, but comfortable. Staff was professional and helpful Wifi available and connected well. Upper level has... More

Flew into Madrid from the USA, needed a place to stay before taking the train the next day to Cordoba. Found Hotel Mediodia. Great location, right across from the Atoche train station in Madrid. Had a balcony view of the square behind the hotel. Double-paned windows helped to keep the street noise out. Big room, minimalist furniture. Very nice staff.... More

The location is worth putting up with the very uncomfortable beds. Out of the 4 hotels I stayed at in Spain this was the most uncomfortable beds/pillows. I was in a queen side bed and they give you one pillow the length of the bed. The pillow was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever been on. Thank goodness... More

The hotel is accessible to public transport, is at good location. The rooms are rather small but their staff are friendly and pleasant. The neighborhood was quiet in the evening. Wifi is good and easy to connect. Rooms are clean and tidy.

Located in front of the Atocha station. Close to the Retiro, the Raina Sofia museum, the Prado; walking distance from the Plaza del Sol, Plaza Santa Anna .... Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms but a bit outdated. Lots of street noise, I could hardly sleep. Slow wifi

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighborhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
