This is a great location. The plaza is always full on interesting people! The rooms are clean, but a bit small. The front desk was helpful with directions and suggestions of restaurants. Would stay here again.

We only stayed one night before flying back to the U.S. The location is great - close to restaurants, shopping, transportation, and many sights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We choose an inside room so we didn't have much of a view but we also didn't have any street noise which made... More

We stayed here in a quick, 2-night stop in Madrid before flying back to the USA, based on a earlier stay. We weren't disappointed. The location next to Plaza del Sol can't be beat for transportation, sightseeing, and dining. The staff was excellent, ever-helpful. The room was comfortable and clean with only a few minor cosmetic flaws, most notably a... More

Everything at the hotel was perfect. The best location in Madrid, we stayed in 221, a room with 2 balconies, loved relaxing on the balcony every eve, enjoying the action of Puerta del Sol below. Very clean rooms, friendly & accomondating staff. Only complaint...wish the internet was a bit faster at the hotel.

We spent three nights in Madrid and the experience was great. The hotel is good and the location is excellent. Some highlights: Breakfast across Plaza del Sol @ La Mallorquina, flamenco show @ Casa Patas, Tapas @ Juana La Loca, The Royal Palace, El Prado, visit to El Retiro Park and walking along La Gran Via and La Castellana.

We were so pleased with our stay at Hotel Europa. It is a charming hotel with a helpful staff in the very heart of Spain. We met many other travelers and shared stories in the hotel lobby and cafe. It was lovely to throw open the shutters and people watch over Puerta del Sol. We'll stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this conveniently located, immaculately clean hotel. The staff was most helpful and is within easy walking distance of the Metro (100 yards) and many locations in the center of historic Madrid. The in-hotel restaurant is very good and the closeness to shopping, entertainment and other attractions make it a perfect location for travelers new... More

So, just some background so you have some perspective and know if this will help you: My philosophy is that a hotel room is just somewhere to sleep and bathe. When I/we travel, we look to spend as LITTLE time at a hotel as possible. That said, please read on (if you'd like)... Hotel Europa is situated smack-dab in the... More

We booked this based on tripadvisor and Rick Steves reviews. The location is outstanding - hard to believe there is a better one in Madrid - right in the center of the city. The lobby is nice, the halls floored in clean marble with carpet runners. The bathroom was also very nice - marble from floor to ceiling and in... More

We stayed for three nights at Hotel Europa in August 2014. As advertized, the hotel location is superb, right on Puerta Del Sol! A bit noisy if you have a room facing Puerta del Sol but the location is outstanding. The staff at the front desk were about average with standard help but not going out of their way to... More
