This is a great little hotel in the centre of Madrid Just by Vodaphone Sol metro station and about 350 mts from Calleo metro.I booked a lovely quiet room as requested. It was roomy, comfortable and had a shower AND a bath, which is always a bonus. Also had safe in room at no charge. The greatest asset though is that the staff ,especially on... Really enjoyed my weekend stay at the Hotel Europa. The staff is very helpful and courteous, the rooms are clean and most of all, the location near the many restaurants and shops in the heart Madrid makes this an excellent choice. If you don't mind a simple room with basic amenities, then this is an excellent value and location.

I booked Hotel Europa off of Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The Pictures of the hotel and location are what sold us. I was expecting an interior facing room and was delighted to find they gave us one with a street view and small balcony. I was worried the room would be noisy because the street sounded like... We spent six nights at the Hotel Europa in late January. It was a great hotel. The room was comfortable with a large marble tiled bathroom with tub, shower, bidet and the other usual fixtures. We paid a little more for the upper balcony room with a view of the plaza and street below. It was well worth the price... More

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 4 nights, it was so much nicer than I thought it would be, giving it was in the centre of the city, lovely hotel, clean and staff are so friendly. Right in the centre of everything, when I'm back in Madrid I will be staying here again. :)

We had a nice stay in Hotel Europa. The staff were helpful, the room was clean, and we really liked our location. We could walk or bus everywhere we wanted to go. It is not a luxurious hotel but a good value for what you pay.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
