Expect the best of Hostal features - simple, clean en suite rooms offering excellent price-quality ratio, friendly reception staff, plus a location that's handy for exploring central Madrid. Ask for one of rooms 321 to 324. Recently constructed and attractively decorated, they're larger with quality bathroom fittings. Minor downsides: rough towels that fail to dry and, in the early to... I stayed there 7 nights. This is what I gotta say: - boring breakfasts (the same things everyday, very limitded choice of products) + great location + clean + comfortable + easy to find + friendly staff + travelled solo, got a double room :) I'd definitely stay there again.

I was satisfied with the hotel - my room was simple but clean, the location is very good having all parts of central Madrid (Sol, Tirso, Latina, Chueca, Atocha, Malasaña) in walking distance, and the price is good. Recommendable for a stay in Madrid.

We stayed for one night. Friendly staff, decent room but the bed was too small for us (we are above 1,8 tall). Also it was quite noisy because the room was situated in a students piso(floor). The breakfast was acceptable compared to other experiences we had in Spain. A good thing is that you can leave the baggage at the... More

We chose this hostal mainly for its location. It was perfect for reaching most points of interest on foot. We knew it was a hostal and not a 4* hotel, which was reflected in the reasonable price. We had no exaggerated expectations and were on the whole satisfied with the quality of the accommodation. We had requested a quiet room... More

We stayed for 5 nights from 10/8-10/13/14. The hostal front desk located on the 2nd floor, there is 1 small elevator only fits 2 person with luggage. The moment we checked in, we felt so welcome by Coral. She's very friendly an helpful when you need direction or any information. Check-in could take a while since there is only 1... More

Started immediately poorly, in the checking the receptionist didn't give warm welcome, it took 20 minutes just to check in. He even suggested finding another hotel if we felt that the checking takes too long. One of our keycards didn't function and we got a lesson that it was our fault and we should not to put keycard next to... More

Madrid: Perfect location, 5 minutes to walk to Placa Mayor and Puerto del Sol - the center of the city, 20 minutes to walk from Prado. Very good room and nice service. Very reasonable price. Only the elevator was too small.

We stayed for 5 nights at this hostel for 319 euros. We had a room with double beds in a newer section of the hostel. Updated room with very good en suite bathroom. Room was down a long winding corridor on the 3rd floor. TV and WiFi worked well. Plenty of hot water. A/C worked well. Outside our room was... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
